Pursuant to the terms of this contraot, the Defendant promised to pay the Plaintiff the total sum of $34,000.00. 5. On or about January 23, 1996, the Defendant breached this contract by terminating the Plaintiff's employment. 6. The Defendant's actions were taken unilaterally and without legal cause or excuse. 7. The Defendant has further breached the contract by failure to pay the Plaintiff the full amount owed under this contract. 8. The Defendant has, on various dates, made partial payment to the Plaintiff in the amount of $10,506.69. 9. Accordingly, the Defendant stands indebted to the Plaintiff in the amount of $23,493.31. 10. The Plaintiff has applied for and received unemployment compensation benefits as a result of his employment termination. 11.
