7. Denied. At the time I was preparing my answer, I never
thought that an answer of "denied" oould ever be rationally
interpreted as meaning "sdmitted". I am a layman, and use words
in their ordinary sense. If T say blaok I do not mean white.
I keep hearing how legalese is supposed to be discouraged and
that legal documents are now supposed to oonform to ordinary
usage. If that is true, then in the interest of fsirness the
Court should permit me to file an amended answer whioh is more
"artfully" drawn.

8. Denied. There very much 1ft a triabl. illue ot tact and
that fact il whether Ifter I still owe Plaintiff Gny money.
9. Denied. We have defenees to assert, suoh as the fact
that Margaret W. Kipps is not a titled owner of the property
et iISUO, and that I have paid the Plaintiff more than he said
I did in his Complaint.
10. That may be true but we are asking the Court not to
consider the pleadings closed and to allow us to file an Imended
answer.
11. IIgain, that may be true but: \lie do have disputed issues
of fact here.
12. IIdmitted. However, \lie have never consciously admitted
the essential elements of Plaintiff's case, we have consistently
denied them. We did not know then that to deny means to admit.
13. Plaintiff should never be entitled to JUdgment on the
Pleadings under an argument as devoid of common sense and as
contrary to intelligent language usage as the one presented
by Plaintiff.
14. WHEREFORE, Defendants respeotfully pray this Honorable
Court to deny Plaintiff's Motion for JUdgment on the Pleadings,
and to permit them to file an amended answer that is more
consistent with the diotional peculiarities contained in the
Pennsylvania Rules of Civil Procedure.
