PETITION FOR CHANGE OF NAME
The petitioners Kimberly Jo Cobb-Petrillo and Darryl Keith Brennan request that this Court order a change
of name for their Son and Stepson respectively, Jason Alan Cobb-Petrillo, pursuant to 54 PA Cons. Stat.
701 et seq., and in support thereof we present as follows:
1. Jason Alan Cobb-Petrillo has resided with his natural mother, Kimberly Jo Cobb-Petrillo, for all of his
life.
2. Darryl Keith Brennan has been in Kimberly and Jason's life for the past two years.
3. When Darryl asked Kimberly to marry him, he was holding both Kimberly's and Jason's hand, after
Kimberly said yes, he turned to Jason and asked him, "Would you like to be my son?" Jason agreed
and has been proudly referring to Darryl as "My Dad"; code name during walkie-talkie fun is
"BigDaddy" "My Dad is picking me up from school today!" "My Dad has a brother named Gregory."
4. Jason's genetic father, Alan Scott Petrillo has seen Jason on two occasions.
5. Jason has been made very aware throughout his life 1hat Alan is a wonderful man and that that is why
Kimberly used "Alan" as Jason's middle name.
6. Jason has also been made aware that Alan is his genetic father. Kimberly and Jason have had many
discussions through the years, about the physical similarity between Alan and Jason with the use of
wedding photographs. Note: Jason refers to Alan as, "Alan, my natural father".
7. Alan Scott Petrillo has made a statement, which is attached; he feels that it would be beueficial for
Jason to have the same last name as Kimberly and Darryl.
8. Darryl and Alan had the opportunity to meet on one of the above-mentioned visits with Jason. Alan has
stated on several occasions that he feels Darryl is very kind, a good guy, and will be a great role model
for Jason.
9. Darryl and Kimberly want uothing more than to have the same last name as Jason and vice-versa.
Jason is in frrst grade and as a family, they are becoming a very active part of their Camp Hill
community, particularly, school functions, boy scouts, summer camp, and soon, sporting events.
10. Jason himself has expressed a desire to be known as "Jason Brennan" Jason Alan Cobb Brennan,
officially. Kimberly will become Kimberly Jo Cobb Brennan officially, on April 22, 2000.
11. For all of Jason's life thus far, he has been called "Jason Cobb"; however, his official name on the
Birth Certificate and Social Security Card is Jason Alan Cobb-Petrillo. Jason has made it very clear
that he feels that Kimberly should have the same last name as himself and that they will be adding the
surname, Brennan. For this reason, Kimberly has decided to keep her maiden name as a middle name
instead of be coming Kimberly Jo Brennan, she will become Kimberly Jo Cobb Brennan.
In closure, Darryl and Kimberly would like you to think of April 22, 2000, not just as a marriage of two
people, but as the day Jason, Darryl and Kimberly begin the first day of the rest of their lives as the
"Brennan" family. Legally speaking, it would be in the best interest of Jason, as there have never been
natural bonds established with the biological father, to take the man's name that desires to be Jason's
father, Darryl Keith Brennan.

To whom it may concern;
t: I Alan Scott Petrillo give consent for the change of my son's name
from Jason Alan Cobb-Petrillo to Jason Alan Brennan.
2. I believe this change will benefit Jason in that he will have the
same surname as his custodial parents, which will avoid any social
stigma that may be associated with having a different surname. The name
change will benefit him as well in developing a good relationship with
his stepfather, Darryl Keith Brennan. I have met Darryl, I like Darryl,
and I believe Darryl will be a good father figure for Jason. As the
changing of his name will foster a strong relationship between Jason and
Darryl I support the changing of his name.
3. On a personal note, I am myself a child of divorce. I have been the
subject of a custody battle, and was for many years in split custody,
living with my mother during the school year and my father during the
summer. It is my opinion that most custody battles are nothing more
than the parents using the child as a club with which to beat each other
over the head. I will not subject my son to any such abuse. For this
reason I have not made any demands for increased custody of him. For
this same reason I now give my consent for the change of his name.
