The Plaintiffs are Donald McBride and Kathryn McBride, adult individuals who reside at .... I 19 Stephen Road in Camp Hill, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. 2. The Defendant is Jeffrey L.W. Brandt an adult individual who resides at RD 2, Box 913, New Bloomfield, Pennsylvania. 3. At all times pertinent to this action, Plaintiff owned property at 19 Steven Road in Camp Hill and Defendant was engaged in the business of home improvement, carpentry, and general construction work in Central Pennsylvania. 4. In August of 1996, Plaintiffs and Defendant entered into a verbal agreement whereby Defendant was to replace the front the rear doors and storm doors at the Plaintirrs residence and Plaintiffs were to pay Defendant the sum ofSIOO.OO for those services, S. In early Septernber 1996 Defendant came to Plaintiffs residence and attempted to install the doors in question. Defendant's work was defective in the following ways: a, Defendant did not complete the project and never finished installing the doors. b. Defendant installed the doors improperly so they did not close properly or remain closed securely, c. Defendant never reinstalled trim or other material that had to be reinstalled or replaced to do the job properly. 6. Plaintiffs reported the deficiencies to Defendant in September of 1996 and requested that Defendant return and complete the job and correct his defective work. Plaintiffs repeated those requests to Defendant from September of 1996 through the early months of 1997. 7. Defendant never returned to Plaintiffs property to complete his work or correct the defects in the work he had done. S. The cost to Plaintiffs to correct the defect work done by Defendant and to complete tbe work not done by Defendant is as follows: Repair or replace back door Install front door Install back door Repair or replace front door frame damaged by Defendant Materia!s $155.00 $308,00 $308.00 $60.00 $35.00 . .
