Dear Attorney Adler,
I have been instructed to provide a letter regarding Mrs. Odessa Skieff who is csred for at
the Blue Ridge Haven Subacute Rehab Unit in Camp Hill. Mrs. Skieff wss admitted to that
facility from an acute care hospital. She has been there for approximately one month.
Unfortunately, she suffered an anoxic brain injury as the result of a csrdiopulmonary problem
while out of town. Furthermore, she has a history of hypertension, congestive heart failure,
seizure disorder and pneumonia.
Unfortunately, Mrs. Skieff is in a persistent vegetative state and most likely will remain so.
I am not optimistic that she will have any significant functional recovery. I believe that
the faredly would like to appoint a durable Power-of-Attorney for health decisions and finan-
cial matters. I feel that this is appropriate.

GUARDIAN OF THE ESTATE AND OF THE PERSON
The Petition of Willie Mae White respectfully states:
1. The Petitioner, Willie Mae White is a sister of
Odessa Skieff, the alleged incapacitated person.
2. Odessa Skieff is 59 years of agel widowed; and
resides at Blue Ridge Haven West, 770 Poplar Church Road, Camp
Hill, Pennsylvania, where she maintains her domicile.
3. Odessa Skieff is not a patient in a mental
hospital.
4. The names, relationship, and addresses of Odessa
Skieff's next of kin are as follows:
Willie Mae White, 2147 North Fourth Street, Harrisburg, PA 17110,
sister;
Clayton Scott, 928 Ivy uane, Statesville, NC 28677, brother;
Fannie Mitchell, 1711 E. Cloaniger Drive, Statesville, NC 28677,
sister;
Cornelia Smith, 625 Forest Street, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania,
sister.
5. Odessa Skieff has 17 brothers and sisters who are
deceased, most of whom have children.
Odessa Skieff has no
children.
6. As far as Petitioner has been able to determine,
the gross value of Odessa Skieff's estate is approximately $180.00.
The net income of Odessa Skieff from her husband's pensions is
$685.00 per month.
7. Odessa Skieff was never a member of the Armed
Forces of the United Stated, and she is not presently receiving
benefits from the United States Veterans Administration or its
successor.
8. Because Odessa Skieff, had a stroke and three heart
attacks from which she has not recovered and is currently in a coma
due to what is believed to be a stroke, she lacks sufficient
capacity to make or communicate responsible decisions concerning
her person and is unable to manage her property. Further, she is
unable to manage her financial resources or to meet essential
requirements for her physical health and safety.
9. The proposed guardian of the estate and person of
Odessa Skieff is willie Mae White, her sister.
10. The proposed guardian, Willie Mae White, the
sister of Odessa Skieff, who resides at 2147 North Fourth Street,
Harrisburg, PA 17110, has no interest adverse to Odessa Skieff,
the alleged incapacitated person.
11. No Court has ever assumed jurisdiction in any
proceeding to determine the competency of Odessa Skieff, the
alleged incapacitated person.
12. No guardian of the estate or person of Odessa
CONSENT OF PROPOSED GUARDIANS
I, Willie Mae White, hereby consent to the appointment of
myself/ourselves to become guardians of the estate and of the
person of Odessa Skieff.
I reside at 2147 North Fourth Street,
Harrisburg, PA 17110. I am retired. I speak, read and write the
English language. I am a citizen of the united States of America.
I do not have any interests adverse to those of Odessa Skieff. I
am not a fiduciary, or an officer or employee of a corporate
fiduciary, of an estate in which the alleged incompetent has an
interest I not the surety, or an officer or employee of a corporate
surety of such a fiduciary.

Estate of Odessa Skieff
The petition of Willie Mae White, Executrix of the Estate of
Odessa Skieff, respectfully represents I
I. The accountant, Willie Mae White, was appointed the
guardian of the estate and person of Odessa Skieff, an
incapacitated person, by the Orphans' Court Division of Cumberland
County on July 24, 1995.
II. Odessa skieff received $685.00 per month from her pension
and owned a home located at 3129 Natrona St., Philadelphia, PA.
The home was sold on March 14, 1997.
III. The fund now before the Court io not subjeot to the
payment of Pennsylvania inheritance tax in that no tax is due
because of the insolvency of the estate, and is not subject to the
payment of Pennsylvania Estate tax.
IV. No aooount has been filed to date.
V. The occasion for the filing of the present aocount is:
Odessa skieff died on February 22, 1996, and this is the
first and final account of the guardianship.
VI. The names of all persons or entities having any interest
in the said fund are as follows:
