Whereas, The Borough of Carlisle on the 20th day of December A.D. 2001, filed its claim
in our Court of Common Pleas of Cumberland County; at No. 01-7123 MLD, for the sum of
$12,730.86, with interest from the 19th day of September, 2001, for the abatement of a public
nuisance against the following property situate in the Borough of Carlisle: known as 242 Pomfret
Street, Carlisle, Pennsylvania, a more precise legal description being attached hereto and marked
Exhibit "A," which property is owned or reputed to be owned by you.
And whereas, We have been given to understand that said claim is still due and unpaid, and
remains a lien against the said property;
Now, you are hereby notified to file your affidavit of defense to said claim, if defense you
have thereto, in the Office of the Prothonotary of our said court, within fifteen days after the service
of this writ upon you. If no affidavit of defense be filed within said time, judgment may be entered
against you for the whole claim, and the property described in the claim be sold to recover the
amount thereof.

ALL THAT CERTAIN tract of land with the improvements thereon erected situate in the Third
Ward of the Borough of Carlisle, County of Cumberland, State of Pennsylvania, bounded and
described as follows:
ON the North by West Pomfret Street; on the East by lot now or formerly of Edwin Y. Mentzer; on
the South by West Chapel Alley; and on the West by lot nor or formerly of Lila Craig. Containing
17-1/2 feet in front on said West Pomfret Street, and extending in an even width 232 feet in depth
to said West Chapel Alley on the South.
HAVING thereon erected a two and one-half (2-1/2) story brick dwelling house and a two (2) car

ALL THAT CERTAIN tract of land situated, lying and being in the Fifth Ward of the Borough of
Carlisle, County of Cumberland, State of Pennsylvania, more particularly bounded and described as
follows:
BEGINNING at the Southeastern intersection of Franklin and "D" Street and extending along
Franklin Street in a Southern direction of 75 feet to the line of Lot of land now or formerly of Lulah
V. Petre; thence along the line of Lot of the said Lulah V. Petre in an Easterly direction 158 feet to
