Thomas Kline Sheriff of Cumberland County Cumberland County Court House One Court House Square Carlisle, Pennsylvania 17013 The Honorable Jack R. r.otwicJ: Sheriff of Dauphin County Dauphin County Court House Front and Market Streets Harrisburg, Pennsylvania 17101 Dear Sheriffs Kline and Lotwick, I received a telephone call on the 5th and returned J.t the next day to one of the kind employees in the Cumberland County Sheriff's Department about my Default Judgement against Mr, Willie G. Ross. At the time of the initial judicial proceedings in District Magistrate Marsha Stewart's chambers, Mr. Ross resided in Harrisburg, He recently moved to Carlisle, in Cumberland County, and the undersigned has filed toe appropriate paper~--and paid all several fees and costs--in both Counties having jurisdiction in the matter, The enclosed letter to Cumberland County Sheriff R. Thomas Kline lists what is owed me by Mr. Ross. His office staffer told me that, in order to recover what is due me in Dauphin County, I must inquire there, hence the letter to you both. The fees, costs, et al. have risen most substantially from what began legal life as a small judge- ment involving Mr. Ross's repaying me $200.00 by his check of April 23, 1996. (Copy enclosed.) Let me add the following costs to Mr. Ross's total bill: 1. Two round-trip CAT bus fares from Camp Hill to Carlisle, on the afternoons of Friday, the 26th, and again on Monday, the 29th, to finish the paperwork in the Prothonotary's Office and with the Cumberland County Sheriff. (Mrs. Shirley Piper,' of the Prothonotary's Office, assisted me.) The four fares (@ $2.05 each way) total $8.20. 2. Three round-trip CAT bus fares from Camp Hill to Harrisburg, during earlY December, to perform the same tasks in the Dauphin County Sheriff's Office. (Peggy there was most helpful, and went out of her way to take care of business. Know, please, that you have a first- rate employee in her:) Round-trips nO~1 (@ $1. 35 each way) total il..:l.Q.. 1. Present postage: $1.26 (two letters to Carlisle, two to Harrisburg in this mailing), @ 32C. All these expenses have been incurred in my attempt to have this lawful debt paid in full. Please check that each County returns to me each County's share of the cost(s) and fee(s)--I have sought to list everything I could think of in my 29 December 1997 letter to Sheriff Kline, and have also sought to avoid any duplicating or accidental error.
