CONCURRENT ANALYSIS
NET CHARGE OPTIMIZATION AGREEMENT
NATIONAL HEALTH SYSTEMS, INC. WILLI
Compare selected oriqinal tllird-party commercial Hospital bills aqainst
medical records for cllarqe accuracy.
Promptly identify omitted cllarqes and over-cllarqes on eacll patient bill for
correction of oriqinal bill by Hospital before eacll bill is submitted to tile
payer.
Provide monthly reports to Hospital reqardinq the oriqination of the omitted
charqes and over-charqes.
Defend the corrected bills on behalf of Hospital in the event of an audit by
the payers.
Invoice Hospital for 40' of additional cash received by Hoepital as a result
of our analysis, calculated on a per chart basis.
Maintain confidentiality of charqe information and the St. Elizabeth Hospital
identity in reqard to dollar amount increased based on concurrent analysis.
Maintain confidentiality of medical records and comply with applicable
qovernment requlations on confidentiality of Ilealth information.
Accept cancellation of this Aqreement upon receipt of written notice thirty
days in advance of termination date. However, National Health Systems, Inc.
will be entitled to receive its ehare of monies received by Hospital
subsequent to termination reqardinq work performed by NHS.
Make available to the Secretary of Healtll and Human Services ("HHS"), to the
Comptroller General of the Government Accountinq Office ("GAO"), or their
authorized representatives, all contracts, books, documents, and records
relatinq to the nature and extent of the costs hereunder for a period of four
years after the furnishinq of services hereunder. In addition, National
Health Systems, Inc., will, if services are to be provided by subcontract
with a related orqanization, require by contract that such eubcontractor make
available to HHS or GAO, or their authorized representatives, all contracts,
books, documents, or their records relatinq to the nature and extent of the
costs thereunde~ for a period of ~our yftars after tile furnishinq of services
thereunder. '
aT. ELIZABETH HOSPITAL WILL:
Provide National Health Systems, Inc. with timely acceos
charqemasters and medical records, adequate space includinq a
chair, accese to a telephone and pllotocopyinq availability.
Notify National Healtll Systems, Inc, wilen it receives payments and pay
National Health Systems, Inc. 40' of the additional cash received by it as a
result of the analysis performed by National Health Systems, Inc., calculated
on a per cllart basis, within forty-five days of receipt of an invoice or
invoices from National Health Systems, Inc. Any amounts not paid wilen due
shall bear interest at the rate of one and one-half percent"(l 1/2') per
month.
