"Purenling Plan" being agreed 10 by the parties on September 25, 1997, This "Purenting

RECOMMENDATIONS OF MASTER FOR FAMILY DIVISION
The Issue of Visitation came on for hearing before the Masler, All testimony and the Master's findings
were electronically recorded at said hearing and said recording Is made a part of the Court file in this
matter for a period of two years, The Master makes the following recommendations:
That all of the terms and provisions of the Parenting Agreement of the parties dated the 27th day of
September, 1997, Plaintiff's exhibit no, 1, over which the Court has jurisdiction be approved by the Court
and incorporated (but not merged) into the judgment by reference when passed,
That Defendant will exercise the summer visitation for four non-consecutive weeks, That the vacation
begin the third week in June unless otherwise agreed upon,
That each party be resonsible for one-half of the tn:msportation; that is that they will meet in Thurmont,
Maryland, That the time for the pick up and drop off time is to be as mutually agreed upon,
That the child support court order of Oclober 30, 1996, be modified and that the child support amount
is to increase by $5,00 per pay period commencing January 1, 1997,
That this case be closed for statistical purposes only,

PARENTING PLAN
This agreement io made between Angela M. Smitz (hereinafter
called Nother) and Eric M. Pringle, (hereinafter called Father)
at Upper Marlboro, Maryland, this 25th day of Soptember, 1997,
and is intended as a plan to help us to continue to act as
parents for our child, Chad Brooks Smitz.
We both acknOWledge that we have been guided by what we
believe to be the bast intorasts of Chad and affirm our desire to
continue to be guided by his bost interests in the future.
1.0 RECITALS.
1.1 Mother and Father were ref8rred to mandatory mediation
wi th rega rd to CUB tody and/or vi s i ta t ion by Order of t.he Pri nee
George's County Circuit. Court.
1.2 One child has been born t.o us: Chad Brooks Smi,tz, born
July 31, 1995.

2.0 PRINCIPLES OF PARENTING.
2.1 Cont.inued Involvement. Fat.her and Mother acknowledge
that it-is in the best interests of Chad for both parents to
continue to partiCipate in his care, rearing and nurturing; and
agree that both parents' intent is to support the other's
parental involvement with Chad.

rest.raint when he is traveling in an automobile . Bot.h parents
also agree that anyone driving Chad will havo insurance coverage
and a current driver's license. Mother agrees that. when Father
is responsible [or transport.ation, he will usually be present in
the car when Chad is being driven to Father's. However, on
occasion, this transportation could be provided by the paternal
grandmother or Father's wife, as long as Mother is told of this
ahead of time.
3.0 CUSTODY
Father and Mother agree that Chad shall reside with Mother
as the primary residential parent. Custody is not at issue,
4,0 TIME SHARING,
:L1. Weeken~ Both parents agree that after Chad starts
elementary school, he will be with Father every other week-end
from Friday afternoon/evening until Sunday evening by 9 PM,
La Prior to Elementary School: Time_.with Father. To be
determined.

4.4 Summer Vacations. The parents agree that Chad will
spend-a-month's time with Father in t.he summer. They are not in
agreement, as yet, as to whether the four weeks will be separated
or consecutive.
4,5 Addit.ional Time. Chad may spend additional time with

:!..J. Holiday Time,- The holiday schedule will take precedence
over the week-end schedule, if the two are in conflict. The
parents could arrange to switch week-ends if there is such a
conflict, as long as they both agree to do so.
5.0 CHANGE IN CIRCUMSTANCE OR RESIDENCE.
~0- Chanqe in Residence. If ei.t.her Father or Mother should
decide to move from their present location such that this
parenting agreement could no longer be followed, as written. the
parent who is planning such a move will inform the other parent
at least. 30 days prior to the ~)ve, and will work with the other
parent to revise this parenting plan, as appropriate.
5,2 ~Iajor Dispute, If ~Iother and Father cannot resolve a
dispute regarding a change in circumstance necessitating a change
in this parenting plan, they agree to return to mediation to
attempt to modify this plan.
We request that the mediator seni copies of this signed
parenting plan to our attorneys, if any; and to submit this
signed, original parenting plan to the Court for inclusion in our
Court file, after we sign it, or after a waiting period, if we so
designate.
We understand that this parenting plan is not binding on or
enforceable by either of us until it is submitted to the Court
for approval and entered as an Order, signed and dated by the
Judge.

Report, it is ordered
1. The Mother, Angela M. Smitz, and the Father, Eric M. Pringle,
shall have shared legal custody of Chad Brooks Smitz, born July 31, 1995.
Each parent shall have an equal right, to be exercised jointly with the
other parent, to make all major, non-emergency decisions affecting the
Child's general well-being inClUding, but not limited to, all decisions
regarding his health, education, and religion.
2. The Mother shall have primary physical cUst~, of the Child.
3. The Father shall have partial physical custody of the Child during
the school year on alternating weeks from Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. until
Friday at 7:00 p.m. until the Child reaches school age. During the SUITIllElr
school break in 199B, the f'ather shall have custody of the Child for every
third week from Sunday at 7:00 p.m. until the fallowing Sunday at 7:00 p.m.
The parties shall cooperate in establishing a custody schedule for future
summers by early spring 1999.
4. The parties shall share or alternate having custody of the Child
on holidays as follows:
A. The Father shall have custody of the Child in odd nunilered
years on New Years Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day and Christmas.
In even numbered years, the Father shall have custody of the
Child on Easter, July 4th and ThanksgiVing. The ~'ather shall
have custody of the Child every year on Father's Day.
B. The Mother shall have custody of the ChHd in odd nunbered
years on Easter, July 4th and Thanksgiving. In even nl1llDflred
years, the Mother shall have custody of the Child on New Years
Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day and Christmas. The Mother shall
have custody of the Child every yeat" on Mother I S Day.
C. Holiday Periods Defined: For purposes of this Order, the
Thanksgiving holiday shall run from no later than 5:00 p.m. on
the Wednesday before Thanksgiving until Friday after.
ThanksgiVing by 9:00 p.m. The Christmas holiday shall run

counsel, Gary L. Rothschild, Esquire. The Father, Eric M. Pringle, who was

participated in the Conference by telephone.
