Re: Estate of Joseph T. Kanavy
KNOW ATJ. MEN BY THESE PRESENTS THAT:
WHEREAS, Joseph T. Kanavy died October 22, 1996, a resident
of Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, and
WHEREAS, the Last Will and Testament of Joseph T. Kanavy
designated Marguerita Kanavy, the widow of his deceased brother,
Cletus Kanavy, as the Executrix and Patricia Kanavy and catherine
Kanavy, the children of Marguerita Kanavy, as sole residuary
legatees, said will is attached as Exhibit A, and
WHEREAS, Marguerita Kanavy is a nonresident of Pennsylvania
and the will does not excuse her from posting a bond prior to the
grant of Letters Testamentary to her, and
WHEREAS, the personal property of the decedent consists of
bank accounts, stock, furniture and a car with a total value of
approximately $100,000.00, and
WHEREAS, the Pennsylvania Inheritance Tax will be about
$20,000.00, and
WHEREAS, the residuary legatees have been advised that while
the amount of the bond required of a nonresident Executor is
customarily set at double the value of the personal property, the
Register of Wills may set the bond at a different amount when
conditions warrant.
