I, VERNA L. S\oJ1\GER, of tho Borough of: Wormleyaburg,
Cumbarlpnd County, Pennsylvania, being of: sound mind, memory
bnd understanding, do hOt:oby mako, publish and declare this
to be my Last Will and Tostament, hereby revoking all other
willa and codicils heretofore made by 1110.
FIRST: I direct that my exocutor shall pay my
funeral expenses as soon as practicable after my decea/Je. My
desires for my burial and funeral services have been made known
by me to Homer A. Smith, nnd I direct that hifl decision \~ith
regard to same shall be final.
SECOND: I give and bequeath to my friend, Homer A.
Smith, Dauphin! Pennsylvania, my marquis engagement ring, if
he should surv~ ve me by thi t'ty days. If \Iomer A. 8mi th shou Id
fail to survive me by thirty days, then 1 give Bnd bequeath the
said ring to his son, Terry Smith.
THIRD: I give and be9ueath to my daughter, Linda S.
Bretz, my engagement ring conta~ning two flmall diamonds, if she
should survive me by thirty days. If my suid daughter should
fail to survive me by thirty days, then said bequest shall be
null and void and slHlll be included in my residuury estate.
FOURTH: I give and bequeath to my daughter, Barbara A.
Shope, my engagement ring in Tiffany setting, if she should
survive me by thirty days. If my said daugllter should fail to
survive me by thirty days, then said bequest shall be null and
void and shall be included in my residuary estute.
FIFTH: I !;Jive and be9ueath to my son, Robert E. Hoff-
master, my diamond rll1g contain~ng ten small diamond chips, if
he should survive me by thirty days. If my said son should fail
to survive me by thirty days, then said bequest shall be null
and void and shall be included in my residuary estate.
SIXTH: I give and bequeath to my sister, Millie Donald-
son, my diamond cocktail ring containing two diamonds, if she
should survive me by thirty days. If my said sister should fail
to survive me by thirty days, then suid bequest shall be null and
void and shall be included in my residuary estate.
SEVENTH: I give and bequeath to my niece, Lauretta
Lauffer, my Eastern Star Past Matron's jewel, if she should sur-
vive me by thirty days. If my said niece should fail to survive
me by thirty days, then said bequest shall be null and void and
shall be included in my residuary estate.

EIGHTH: I give and bequeath to my friend, Gloria
Schantllen, my Linde Star earrings, if: she should survive me by
thirty daya. If she should fuil to survive me by thirty days,
then said bequest shall be null and void and shall be included

NINTH: I give and begucath to my sister, Betty
Czekalski, my diamond carrings 1n Tiffany setting und my pearl
and diamono chip cocktail rIng, if she should survive mo by
thirty days. If my said sister should fail to aurvivo me by

TENTH: I give and bequeath to my granddaughter, Jodi
Hoffmaster, m:r opera-length cuI tured pearls, if she should sur-
vive me by th1rty daya. If my said granddaughter should foil to
survive me by thirty days, then I give and bequeath the said
pearls to my son, Robert E. Hoffmaster, if he should survive me
by thirty days. If neither my said granddaughter nor my said
Bon should survive me by thirty daysl then suid bequest shall be
null and void and shall be included 1n my residuary estate.
ELEVENTH: I give Bnd bequeath to my granddaughter
Jennifer Bretz, my choker style cultured pearls, if she should
survive me by thirty days. If my said granddaughter should fail
to survive me by thirty days, then I give and bequeath the said
pearls to my daughter, Linda S. Bretz, if she should flurvive me
by thirty days. If neither my said granddaughter nor my said
daughter should survive me by thirty days, then said bequest
shall be null and void and shall be included in my residuary
estate.
TWELFTH: I !?ive and bequea th to my niece, Lauret ta
Lauffer, my blue sapph1re and diamond ring, if she should survive
me by thirty days. If my said niece should fail to survive me
by thirty days, then said bequest shall be null and void and
shall be included in my residuary estate.
THIRTEENTH: I give and bequeath to my friend, Helen
Hetrick, my gold band ring with emblems, if she should survive
me by thirty days. If she should fail to survive me by thirty
days, then said bequest shall be null and void and shall be
included in my residuary estate.
FOURTEENTH: I give Bnd bequeath to my friend, Homer A.
Smith, my son Robert E. Hoffmaster, and my niece, Lauretta Lauffer,
all of the shares of stock of pennsylvania Power and Light
Company, all of the shares of stock of Dauphin Deposit Trust
Company, and all of the shares of stock of Science Mutual Funds

only shall be distributed, making equal diHtribution as far as

timc of my death. The decision of my executor sllllll be concluHive
and binding on ull interested purties.
FIFTEENT\l: I give and boqueuth to my natural born
grandchildren (adopted grandchildren and children of adopted
children shall be excluded) to be held in truHt an hereinafter
provided, ull of thc shares of 8tock of AMP, Inc. which I may
own at the tLnc of my death, to be divided equally among tho~e
natural born grandchildren who survive me by thirty days. If
none of my natural born grandchildren survive me by thirty days,
then said bequests shull be null and void and shall be included
in my residuary estate.
SIXTEENTH: I Ilive and bequeath to my sister, Mill ie
Donaldson, my solid oak )edroom suite.
SEVENTEENTH: I give and bequea th to my friend, Homer A.
Smith, my cherry drop leaf tablo, chairH, china cloHet, the dry
sink and all art pictures.
EIGHTEENTH: All the re!>t, residue and remainder of
my estute, real, personal and mixed, of whatsoever nature and
wheresoever situated, I give, devi8e and bequeath to my friend,
Homer A. Smith, my son, Robert E. 1I0ffma8ter, my niece, Lauretta
Lauffer, my granddaughter, Jodi Iloffmallter, my granddaughter,
Jennifer Bretz, and my grandson, Eric Bretz, to be divided equally
amon, the said beneficiarieH who survive me by thirty days.
Provlded, however, that my Trustee !>hall hold in trust as herein-
after provided the shares [or the grandchildren and further provided,
however, that my Tru8tee shall hold in trust the share for my
said 80n, invest and reinvest the same, distribute to him the net
income thereof at l.oast annually, and distribute the principal to
him when he shall attain the age of forty-five years, but in no
event prior to five yoars from the date of my death. In the
event he ahall die before diatribution of hiH 8harc, such share
shall be distributed to his natural iSHue (not adopted - children
or grandchildren) per 8tirpes, then surviving, and in default
of such issue, then to my other residuary legatees, then aurviving,
the same to be held in trust as hereinafter provided for
grandchildren.

NINE'I'EENTII: If: any of my grandchildren en titled to II

distributive share of Ruch grandchild in my os tate to DAUPHIN
DEPOSIT BANK AND TRUST COMPANY, TruHtee, in truRt nevertheless,
each to be set up as a separate trust, and direct that:
1. The Tt"usteo shall pay over the entire net income
of (~ach trust to the grandchild who iu the bonefici.ary thereof,
until the final termination of the several truHts by the
diatribution then!of, oxcept that during the minority of each
of Baid children that is, under tho age of t\~enty-one years,
the Trustee shall use so much of the net income of each trust
liS may in ita judgment be necesRary for the maintenance,
education, comfort, general welfar~, Support or emergency need
of each of said cl1l1dren, and shall accumulate any balance of
income and add the Rame to the principal of th~ respective trust
es ta tes and inves t and reinves t the same. Un t i1 the final
termination of the several trusts by the distribution thereof,
the Trustee shull use 80 much of the principal of each trust
as may in its judgment be neCesRary for the maintenance, educa-
tion, comfort, ,onoral welfare, support or emergency need of
each of said c1nldren. As it lS my desire that said children
receive an education at a college, profeRsional or other school
of higher education, or all of them, I here express my intention
that the word "education" as uBed in this my LaRt IHll Rhall
refer to all such institutions of higher learninl];. In making any
der.is ion under th is provis ion or the next folloW111g provis ion,
the Trustee should take into consideration the other income
then being received by the beneficiaries from any sourceR what-
soever, as well as all other trusts, estateR and funds available
to them or for their use and shall coordinate such URe of the
various moneYR. The decision of the said Trus tee shall be con-
clusive and no beneficiary or any oth(~r party has a right to
demand any encroachment on principal or use of income.
2. Prior to the distribution of the principal of
each trust as hereinafter provided, the Trustee shall have the
right to accelerate distribution of the principal of any trust,
in whole or in part, and from time to time, after the respective
beneficiaries shall arrive at the age of twenty-one years, if in
the sole discretion of the Trustee, Buch advance payments would
promote the best interests of the respective beneficiaries, as
for example, where it might be desirable for the beneficiary to
take advantage of a businesR opportunity, this being an illustration
only and not in limitation of the broadest discretion on the par.t '
of the Trustee. No beneficiary, or any other person, however,
has the right to domand such advance payment or USe of the pr1ncipal
and all decisions of the said Trustee shall be binding and
conclusive upon all interested parties. .

and free of truat, whon tho beneficiary Hhall uttuin hia or 110r
twenty-fifth birthday.
5. If any grandchild entitled to a share of my estate
dies bofore attaining the age when diatribution is provided for
him or her, the I?rincipal of that grandchlld' s trust I together
with any undistr1buted income, shull be distributed 1n equal
shares to the other namcd grandchildren who wrvive the death
of the !wid grandchild by thirty daya. If aaid surviving grand~
child or grandchildren are under the age of twenty-five yearH
at the dato of death o[ the Huid deceaHed grundchild, the ahare
shall be added to the truHt for Huch grundchild.
6. All ahares of principal and income shall be free
from anticipation, aHBignment, pledge, or obligation of tho
beneficiary, and shall not be Hubject to any execu~ion or attach-
ment.
TWENTIETH: All eHtate, inheritance, HucceHaion or other
death taxes which may be uSHeHHed aB a conHequence of my death,
as well as all administration expenHes of my eHtate, ShLlll be
paid from my residuary estate.
TWENTY-FIRST: In the event that the beneficiary of
any item o[ personal adornment ahall be under the age of ei~hteen
at the time of my death, I direct that the parent of such mlnor
shall hold said item and deliver it to the minor \~hen the minor
shall attain the age of eighteen years.
TWENTY-SECOND: I appoint DAUPHIN DEPOSIT BANK AND
TRUST COMPANY, Harrisburg, pcnnsylvania, guardian of any property
which pasa8S either under thiH Will or otherwise to a minor and
with respect to which I am authorized to appoint a guardian and
have not otherwise specifically done HO, provided that this
appointment of a guardian shall not apply to property distributabb
under this Will to a minor for whom specilll !)rovision has other-
\~1.se been made herein and provided further t lat this appointment
of a ~uardian shall not supersede the right of any fiduciary in
his d1scretion to distribute Huch Hhare to another for the minor's
benefit. Such guardian shall have the power to use principal and
income to the Hame extent as conferred upon my trustee by this
Will. Such guardian and such trustee shall huve the power to use
principal as well UR income from time to time for the minor's
support and education (including colle~~e eduction) both graduate
and undergraduate (without regard to IllS or her parent' H ability

FIRST CODICIL
I, VERNA L. SWEGER, of the Borough of Wormleysburg,
Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, b~ing of sound mind, memory and
understanding, do hereby make, publillh and declare this td be my
First Codicil to my Last Will and Testament dated the 30th day
of December, 1977.
WHEREAS, I de9ire to make certain changes hereinafter
set forth to my Last Will and Testamant.
I 110W direct that Article Third of my Baid Last Will
and Testament be deleted and in lieU thereof Rubstitute the
following.
THIRD: I give and bequeath to my daughter,
Linda S. Bretz, my engagement ring containing
two small diamonds, if she should survive me by
thirty (30) days. I also gi.ve and bequeath to
my daughter, Linda S. Bretz, the automobile
which I may own at the time of my death, if she
should survive me by thirty (30) days. If my
said daughter should fail to survive me by
thirty (30) days, then ~aid bequests shall be
null and void and shall be included in my re-
siduary estate.
I now direct that Article Eighteenth of my said Last
Will and Testament be deleted and in lieu thereof substitute
the fo llowing.
EIGHTEENTH: A. I own in~urance policies
on the lives of my children, I give and bequeath
to the child named as the in~ured the policy on
that child's life.
B. All the rest, residue and
remainder of my estate, real, personal and mixed.
of whatsoever nature and wheresoever situate, I
give, devise and bequeath to my friend, Homer A.
Smith, my son, Robert E. Hoffmaster, my daughter,
Barbara A. Shope, and my niece, Lauretta Lauffer,
my granddaughter, Jodi Eoffmas ter, my granddaughter,
Jennifer Bretz, and my grandson, Eric Bretz, to be
divided equslly among the said beneficiaries who
survive me by thirty (30) days. Provided, that my
Trustee shall hold in trust as hereinafter provided
the yhares for the grandchildren,and further pro-
vided, however, that my Trustee shall hold in
trust the shares for my said children, invest and
reinvest the same, distribute to the beneficiary
the net income thereof at least annually, and

the beneficiary shall attain the age of forty-five
(45) years, but in no event prior to five (5) years
from the date of my death. In the event a bene-
ficiary shall die before distribution of his or her

children (per stirpes), then surviving, and in
default of such issue, then to my other residuary
legatees then surviving the same to be held in trust
as hereinafter provided for the grandchildren, I
direct that there shall be a separate trust for
each beneficiary.
I now direct that Article Twenty-Third of my said Last
Will and Testament be deleted and in lieu thereof substitute the
fo Howing .
TWENTY-THIRD: I nominate, constitute and appoint
my son, Robert E, Hoffmaster, and Homer A. Smith,
Co-Executors of this my Will. In the event of the
failure of both of said individuals to serve or to
continue to serve as Executor, I direct the Dauphin
Dapos :l.t Trus t Company, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania,
shall be and become substitute or successor Executor.
t direct that no fiduciary of mine shall be required
to enter security in any jurisdiction in which such
fiduciary may act.
In all other respects, I confirm my said Last Will. and
Testament dated the 30th day of December, 1977,
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and seal
this 6th day of February,1979.
