MUNICIPAL LIEN FOR (CURB) (SIDEWALK) REPAIRS
The Borough of Carlisle, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, hereby files its claim
against John R. Martin, Jr. and Martha V. Martin and all that certain lot or piece of
ground situated in the Borough of Carlisle, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, being
known as 167 West North Street and having thereon erected a house. (See property
description attached.)
For Curb and sidewalk repairs for 167 West North Street together with an
additional ten percent (10%) and $90.00 solicitor filing fee for a total of $ 442.00,
together with court filing costs and interest sec. leg. from July 15, 2002, the date
of completion of the work.
Prior notice in accordance with law was served upon the owner by first class United
States certified mail, postage prepaid, at the owner's address at 445 Burgners Road in
Carlisle, PA 17013 on November 8, 2002. The said services were provided by the
Borough of Carlisle and the charge levied therefor in strict accordance with Article XVIII
of the Borough Code, Act of February 1, 1966, P.L. 1655 (1965), No. 581, Section 1801
et. seq., 53 P.S. Section 46801 et seq., Ordinance 145-C, Article II of Chapter 120,
and/or Article V of Chapter 223 of the Code of the Borough of Carlisle.

BETWEEN MARY ELIZABETH MARTIN, Widow, of the Borough of Carlisle,
Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, hereinafter referred to as Grantor,
AND JOHN R. I~ARTIN, JR. and MARTHA V. MARTIN, hfs wife, of 167 West
North Street, Carlisle, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, hereinafter referred to as
Grantees:

in hand paid,' the receipt wl~ereof is hereby acknowledged, the said Grantor does
hereby grant and convey to the said Grantees, their heirs and assigns:
BEGINNING at a point on the concrete sidewalk along {Vest North Street,
which point is at the corner of Lot No. 5 of the above-referred-to Plan;
thence along said sidewalk on West North Street, North 83 degrees 59

the above-referred-to Plan and the c~nterline of the common passageway

along Lot No. 5 of the above-referred-to Plan and a post and wire fence
and through an iron pin set, South 04 degrees 02 minutes 27 seconds {Vest

concrete sidewalk along {Vest North Street, the point and place of
BEGINNING.
BEING Lot No. 4 of the above-referred-to Plan. Containing 1966.040
square feet and being improved with a two-story single family attached
dwelling known as No. 167 West North Street.
BEING part of the premises George K. Brown and Amanda M. Brown, his
wife, by deed dated August 4, 1953 and recorded in the O[fice aforesaid in
Deed Book "J,,, Volume 15, Page 102, granted and conveyed unto Charles H.
Martin and Mary Elizabeth Martin, his wife. The said Charles H. Martin
having died January 12, 1955, title vested entirely in Mary Elizabeth
Martin, Seller herein. ,
