AND NOW, comes the Plaintiff, Gregory M. Feather, Esquire, pro se, of the Law Firm of
HANDLER HENNING & ROSENBERG and files the within Complaint against the above
captioned Defendants and avers as follows:
1. Plaintiff, Gregory M. Feather, is an adult individual residing at 308 Stuart Place,
Harrisburg, Pennsylvania 17109.
2. Defendant, Vicki McLaughlin, is an adult individual residing with her husband, Leonard
McLaughlin at 2 Colgate Drive, Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, 17011.
3. Defendant, Leonard McLaughlin, is an adult individual residing with his wife, Vicki
McLaughlin at 2 Colgate Drive, Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, 17011.
4. At all times material hereto, Plaintiff, Gregory M. Feather, was the owner and operator of
a 1997 Ford Mustang GT bearing Pennsylvania registration number KGE-180
(hereinafter "Plaintiffs Vehicle").
5. At all times material hereto, Defendant Leonard McLaughlin was the co-owner and
operator of a private passenger motor vehicle believed to be a sports utility vehicle
(hereinafter "Defendant's vehicle").

6. At all times material hereto, Defendant Vicki McLaughlin was the co-owner of
Defendant's vehicle.
7. On or about September 27,1998, Plaintiffs vehicle was stopped at a red traffic light on
the Southbound New Cumberland exit ramp off of Interstate 83, Cumberland County,
Pennsylvania.
8. On or about September 27, 1998, Defendant, Leonard McLaughlin was traveling down
the same exit ramp approaching Plaintiffs vehicle.
9. Suddenly and without warning, at approximately the same time and place, Defendant,
Leonard McLaughlin, failed to observe Plaintiffs vehicle stopped at the traffic light
directly in front of his vehicle and slammed his vehicle into the rear end of Plaintiff s
vehicle.
10. Prior to the collision, Plaintiff purchased a policy of motor vehicle insurance from
Nationwide Insurance Company and selected the full tort option on his insurance policy.
Said policy was in effect on April 27, 1998, the date of the collision.
11. As a direct and proximate result of the negligence of the Defendants, the Plaintiff
Gregory M. Feather sustained extensive and permanent injuries as set forth more
specifically below.
12. The occurrence of the aforementioned collision and all the resultant injuries to Plaintiff,
Gregory M. Feather, are the direct and proximate result of the negligence, carelessness,
and/or recklessness of the Defendant Leonard McLaughlin, generally and more
specifically as set forth below:

a. In failing to be reasonably vigilant to observe the roadway and the position of
Plaintiffs vehicle on the roadway;
b. In failing to operate his vehicle under proper and adequate control so that he could
have avoided striking Plaintiff s vehicle;
c. In failing to maintain proper and adequate observation of the existing traffic
conditions;
d. In failing to keep a proper lookout for vehicles lawfully on the New Cumberland
Exit ramp off of the South bound lane ofInterstate 83;
e. In failing to exercise reasonable care in the operation and control of his vehicle, in
violation of75 Pa.C.S.A ~3714;
f. In failing to be continuously alert, in failing to perceive any warning of danger
that was reasonably likely to exist, and in failing to have his vehicle under such
control so that injury to persons or property could be avoided;
g. In failing to exercise the high degree of care required of an operator of a motor
vehicle when approaching an intersection, in violation of75 Pa.C.S.A. ~ 3361;
h. In failing to operate his vehicle at a speed and under such control so as to be able
to stop within the assured clear distance ahead, in violation of75 Pa. C.S.A. ~
3361; and,
1. In failing to operate a motor vehicle at a speed that was safe for road conditions,
in violation of75 Pa.C.S.A. ~3361;
13. As a direct and proximate result ofthe negligence ofthe Defendant, Plaintiff, Gregory M.
Feather, has suffered extensive and serious personal injuries, including, but not limited to

a cervical strain/sprain with neck pain a thoracic strain/sprain with a mild bulging annulus
at T7 -8, and paraesthesias to the left ulnar nerve with traumatic cubital tunnel syndrome
which required ulnar nerve transposition and decompression which left permanent
scarring approximately 8 centimeters in length.
14. As a direct and proximate result of the Defendant's negligence, Plaintiff, Gregory M.
Feather, has suffered great physical pain, discomfort, and mental anguish, and he will
continue to endure the same for an indefinite period of time in the future, to his great
physical and emotional detriment and loss.
15. As a direct and proximate result of the Defendant's negligence, Plaintiff, Gregory M.
Feather, has been compelled, in order to effect a cure for aforesaid injuries, to spend large
sums of money for medicine and/or medical attention, and will be required to spend
money for the same purposes in the future, to his great detriment and loss.
16. As a direct and proximate result of the Defendant's negligence, Plaintiff, Gregory M.
Feather, has suffered a loss oflife's pleasures, and she will continue to suffer the same in
the future, to her great detriment and loss.
17. As a direct and proximate result of the Defendant's negligence, Plaintiff, Gregory M.
Feather, has been, and probably will in the future be, hindered from attending to his daily
duties, to his great detriment, loss, humiliation, and embarrassment.
18. As a direct an proximate result of the Defendant's negligence, the Plaintiff, Gregory M.
Feather, has suffered lost wages and may in the future continue to suffer a loss of income
and/or loss of earning capacity.

19. Plaintiff, Gregory M. Feather, believes and, therefore, avers that his injuries are serious
and permanent in nature.
WHEREFORE, Plaintiff, Gregory M. Feather, seeks damages from the Defendants,
Leonard McLaughlin and Vicki McLaughlin, in an amount in excess of twenty-five thousand
dollars ($25,000.00).
