Plaintiff, Kartic C. Dass is an adult individual and Certified Public Accountant with a business address of 125 North Enola Drive, Enola, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania 17025. 2. Defendant Suresh K. Makhija is an adult individual residing at 7885 West Flamingo Road, Apartment 1069, Las Vegas, Nevada 89147. 3. In or about March 1999, Dass was hired by Makhija to prepare Makhija's federal, Pennsylvania and local tax returns for the calendar year 1998. 4. Dass had prepared Makhija's 1997 federal, state and local tax returns. 5. Makhija provided Dass with the information necessary to prepare the 1998 state and local tax returns on or about March 29, 1999. 6. Dass prepared Makhija's federal, state and local tax returns for the year 1998 on 1, 1999 and mailed those returns to Makhija on April 1, 1999. 7. Dass billed Makhija $350 for completion of the federal, state and local tax returns LAW OFFICES SNELRAI(ER, or 1998 by invoice dated April 1, 1999, a copy of which is attached hereto as "Exhibit A" and BRENNEMAN & SPARE incorporated herein by reference. The returns were sent by Dass to Makhija on April 1, 1999 by Priority Mail of the Unites States Postal Service. The Priority Mail package was addressed to Makhija at the address provided by Makhija. 9. Makhija informed Dass that he did not receive the Priority Mail package described in the preceding paragraph. 10. On April 15, 1999 Dass prepared a new set of federal, state and local tax returns for Makhija and sent them to Makhija at the address provided by Makhija via Overnight Express Mail of the United States Postal Service. Makhija received the Express Mail package on April 16, 1999. 11, Dass prepared both sets of federal, state and local tax returns for Makhija in a competent and professional manner. 12, The reasonable value of Dass' efforts to prepare the second set of federal, state and local tax returns for Makhija is $200. 13. Dass billed Makhija $200 for the preparation of the second set of federal, state and local tax returns. 14. Despite demand, Makhija has failed and refused to pay Dass the $550 due and owing to Dass for the preparation of two sets of Makhija's 1998 federal, state and local tax returns.
