PETITION FOR APPOINTMENT OF SCHOOL POLICE OFFICERS
PURSUANT TO §778 OF THE PUBLIC SCHOOL CODE OF f949
THE HONORABLE, JUDGES OF SAID COURT:
The Cumberland Valley School District, by and through its Solicitor, Johnson, Duffle, Stewart &
Weidner, does hereby petition and make application to this Court to the appointment for School Police
Officers in and for the Cumberland Valley School District under the provisions of the Public School Code of
1949, as amended Section 778 (24 P.S. §7-778) and in support thereof represents as follows:
1. The Cumberland Valley School District is a duly-organized and constituted school district of
the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, located in the County of Cumberland, being comprised of the
Townships of Hampden (a first class township), Silver Spring, Middlesex, and Monroe (second class
townships).
2. Cumberland Valley School District is desirous of and in need of School Police Officers to act
as policemen for the school district.
3. The Board of School Directors of the Cumberland Valley School District has by resolution
adopted on June 16, 2003, designated the following named persons to act as School Police Officers to serve
until the school district, by resolution directs otherwise, with the powers and authorities set forth below
subject to the appointment by Your Honorable Court:
A. The School Police Officers with authority to enforce good order pursuant to Section
778(c)(1) of the Public School Code of 1949, as amended, seeking appointment at the request of the
Cumberland Valley School District are attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit "A".
B. School Police Officers with authority to enforce good order pursuant to the authority of
Section 776(c)(1) of the Public School Code of 1949, as amended, and to issue citations pursuant to
Section 776(c)(3) of the Public School Code of 1949, as amended, are those individuals seeking
appointment through the Cumberland Valley School District listed on Exhibit "B" which is attached
hereto and incorporated herein.
WHEREFORE, Cumberland Valley School District respectfully prays that Your Honorable Court
appoint the above-named persons as School Police Officers for the Cumberland Valley School Distdct with
the powers, duties and responsibilities, as set forth above, to act as policemen for said school district in
accordance with the Public School Code of 1949, as amended.

ORDER OF COURT
AND NOW, this ?~' '¢day of /,~.),/ 2003, upon consideration of the foregoing Petition
and application of Johnson, Duffle, Stewart & Weidner, Solicitor for the Cumberland Valley School District,
the prayer of the foregoing Petition and application is granted and the following persons are hereby
appointed school police officers for the Cumberland Valley School District until the school district by
resolution directs otherwise, said persons being subject to the powers, duties and requirements of the Public
School Code of 1949, as amended, Section 778 (24 P.S. {}7-778) and as set forth below upon compliance
with other requirements of the aforesaid Act:
A. School police officers with authority to enforce good order pursuant to Section
778(c)(1) of the Public School Code of 1949, as amended, are those individuals set forth as Exhibit
"A," attached hereto and made part of this Order.
B. School police officers with authority to enforce good order pursuant to Section
778(c)(1) of the Public School Code of 1949, as amended, and issue citations pursuant to Section
778(c)(3) of the Public School Code of 1949, as amended, are those individuals set forth in Exhibit
"B," attached hereto and made part of this Order.
