1. Petitioners are the parents and natural guardians of

2. Christopher Weems was born on April 24, 1984 and
currently resides with the Petitioners.
3. On or about August 19, 1998, the Minor Petitioner was a
passenger in an automobile operated by Defendant Richie and owned
by Defendant Crowl.

OF A COMPROMISE SETTLEMENT
MINOR'S ACTION

CUMBERLAND COUNTY:
AND NOW, comes the Petitioner, Christopher Weems, a Minor,
by and through his parents and guardians, C. Powell Weems and
Jill Weems, who respectfully state the following:
1. Petitioners are the parents and natural guardians of
Christopher Weems, a minor, who reside at 15 Burgundy Circle,
Boiling Springs, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, 17007.
2. Christopher Weems was born on April 24, 1984 and
currently resides with the Petitioners.
3. On or about August 19, 1998, the Minor Petitioner was a
passenger in an automobile operated by Defendant Richie and owned
by Defendant Crowl.

4. The accident occurred on Township Road 590, South
Middlesex Road, Middlesex Township, Cumberland County,
Pennsylvania.
5. As a result of this accident, the Minor Plaintiff
alleges that he suffered personal injuries. The personal
injuries allegedly sustained include: Closed head injuries, brain
shearing, broken eye orbits, broken nose, and double vision.
6. Defendants, while denying liability for any injuries to
the minor Plaintiff, have offered to compromise this claim.
7. Defendants' insurance carrier has made prior payments
of $347.40, and $20 out-of-pocket expenses for injuries sustained
by the Minor Plaintiff.
8. The Defendants' insurance carrier also makes payment of
$19,632.60 directly to the Minor Plaintiff for past and future
medical bills.
9. There also will be a structured settlement, which will
have a guaranteed payout of $136,935.
10. The guaranteed payments include:
April 24, 2002, when the Minor Plaintiff
reaches the age of 18:
April 24, 2003, when the Minor Plaintiff
reaches the age of 19:

April 24, 2004, when the Minor Plaintiff
reaches the age
of 20: $ 5,000
April 24, 2005, when the Minor Plaintiff
reaches the age
of 21: 15,000
April 24, 2009, when the Minor Plaintiff
reaches the age
of 25: $ 46,350
April 24, 2014, when the Minor Plaintiff
reaches the age
of 30: 60,585
11. The Petitioners have reviewed the proposed settlement
and believe the settlement to be fair, just and equitable, and in
the best interest of their minor child.
12. The Petitioners have not been represented by counsel,
thus, there will be no attorney's fees or costs removed from the
settlement amount.
WHEREFORE, Petitioners respectfully request that This
Honorable Court enter an order approving the foregoing compromise
settlement of the claim of the Minor Plaintiff.

minor, indicated his concurrence with the petition, and at
which Christopher Weems' parents and guardians, C. Powell
Weems and Jill Weems, both indicated their desire that the
petition be approved, the Petition for Approval of a
Compromise Settlement Minor's Action is approved according
