Re: J. Grant Shatzer, Jr. (Deceased)
Ref # 6018882 (ATTN: Nick Torain)
To Whom It May Concern:
As we notified Bank of America on April 26, 2007 and again on June 18, 2007, J. Grant
Shatzer, Jr. left no estate - he had no will, no insurance, no savings account and no funds for
his burial. He received a Social Security benefit once a month and a small amount from his
pension, which was guaranteed until his death, even though he had exhausted his
accumulation. Both benefits ended with his death. This continues to be the situation - no
monies have been found from previously unknown sources, as there was no insurance or
pension payouts received. Mr. Shatzer lived alone, as his wife has a separate residence due to
her health and has supported herself for many years. Mrs. Shatzer is not named on, nor was
she a user of Mr. Shatzer's credit cards. She has her own credit cards in her name only.
Mr. Shatzer did not own or drive a car and seldom left his home, except once a week to
get some groceries. He did not have a computer or know how to shop on the Internet. It is a
mystery to the Shatzer family where Mr. Shatzer was using his credit cards, or why a company
would extend and encourage someone living on Social Security to accumulate large debts. It is
the family's belief that someone else may have been using these cards either with or without Mr.
Shatzer's knowledge. Since you indicated that you were unwilling to provide supporting
documentation, there is no way for us to determine whether or not this is the case.
As there is no estate, legal counsel has advised the family that the debts Mr. Shatzer
accrued are not the responsibility of Mrs. Shatzer or the Shatzer family.
Sincerely,
The Shatzer Family
