I now represent the Estate of Joseph Patrick Bonner filed to the above number. A
praecipe to enter my appearance is enclosed.
This letter is to request a refund of the excess amount of the probate fee paid by my client
on January 14,2008. She completed the Petition without the assistance of counsel and
misunderstood the form. At the place for listing property of the decedent for real estate owned
by the decedent she included jointly owned real estate with a value of $120,000.00. In fact, the
decedent had no individually owned real estate.
To the best of our knowledge at this time, the decedent owned in his individual name
only an annuity with a value of$9,900. The correct value of that annuity will be entered on the
inventory to be filed in this estate. The Estate will use $9,900 as the value for the decedent's
personal property for probate purposes.
If further steps are necessary to correct the probate petition, please notify me.
This is a request for a refund of the probate fee paid in excess of that fee required for
personal property valued at $9,900. Thank you for your consideration of this request.
