SARA STONE MILLER
I, SARA STONE MILLER, of Carlisle, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania,
make, publish and declare this to be my Last Will and Testament, hereby
revoking any and all former Wills by me at any time heretofore made.
1. I direct the payment of my just debts and funeral expenses as
soon after my death as will be convenient to my Executors hereinafter
named.
2. I <;;live and bequeath to each of the following named persons,
members of my husband's family, the sum of One Thousand Dollars
($1,000.00):
(a) Bert Miller;
(b) Allie Lou Pearson;
(c) Pat Amos. In the event she fails to survive me this
bequest shall be given to her son;
(d) Jean Laughridge;
(e) Benny Miller, or his son, if he fails to survive me;
(f) Merlin Miller but, should he fail to survive me this
bequest shall be divided equally among his children;
(g) Bob Miller or, in the event he fails to survive me, his
daughter;
(h) Mary Frances Young;
(i) Jan, the daughter of Walter Miller;
(j) To the children of Frances Miller Redpath in equal shares;
(k) Arline Meiss, unless she fails to survive me, in which
event to her daughter, Linda.
3. I glve to each of Bill Niensteel's two sons the sum of Five
Hundred Dollars ($500.00).
4. I give to each of Vaughan Miller's three children the sum of
Three Hundred Dollars ($300.00).

5. I give to each of Grace Hepford's two daughters the sum of
Three Hundred Dollars ($300.00).
6. I give to each of George Niensteel's two daughters the sum of
Three Hundred Dollars ($300.00).
7. I give to each of Mildred Weigle's two sons the sum of Three
Hundred Dollars ($300.00).
8. I give and bequeath to each of the following named persons the
sum of Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000.00):
(a.) Kit Putnam but, should she fail to survive me her bequest
shall go to her daughter;
(b) Nora Kennedy;
(c) Durham Stone but, should he predecease me, this bequest
is to be divided equally among his grandchildren;
(d) Ben F. Stone;
(e) Jake Stone, or should he fail to survive me to his son,
J. r-.1. Stone;
(f') Ruth Stone;
(9) Randolph Stone, or to his daughter, if he fails to
survJ..ve' me.
9. I make the following additional bequests:
(a) To Bernice Porter, One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00);
(b) To Joe Porter, Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00)
(c) To Gordon B. Porter, Jr., Two Hundred Fifty Dollars
($250.00) ;
(d) To Betty Childress, Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($250.00);
(e) To Steve Stone, One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00);
(f) To Steve Stone's son, One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00);
(g) To Louise and Betty, the children of John Stone, each
the sum of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00).
10. I 9ive, devise and bequeath all my right, title and interest
in and to thE! one-tenth share of the Sarah E. Stone farm located at
Orrum, North Carolina, to J. M. Stone, Ann Stone, Joe Porter, Gordon B.
Porter, and Betty Childress, in equal shares.

11. I direct my Executors hereinafter named to sell my real estate
in the Borough of Carlisle, known and numbered 788 West South Street, at
public or private sale.
12. I am leaving with this Will instructions as to the disposition
of certain items of household goods and I direct my Executors to carry
out those instructions. All other items of household goods are to be
appraised and offered to the persons hereinbefore named at the appraised
values. Such items of household goods as are not disposed of in
accordance with the instructions or taken by the specific legatees shall
be sold at public sale.
13. I give to Lafayette College the sum of One Hundred Thousand
Dollars ($100,000.00) for a special memorial to my husband, Walter M.
Miller. This memorial may be designated and contributions made toward
it in my lifetime. In such case my Executors shall deduct from this
bequest such lifetime contributions. Unless otherwise designated, all
contributions to Lafayette College made after the execution of this Will
shall be considered contributions made towards this memorial.
14. I give to Lumberton National Bank, of Lumberton, North
Carolina, or its successor, the sum of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00),
in trust, nevertheless, to invest the same and use one-half of the net
income for tlle care and support of John W. Stone for and during his
life, and to give the other one-half of the net income to whatever brother
or sister of mine may be most In need of it. The income for John W. Stone
shall be paid to J. M. Stone, or any guardian of John W. Stone, who shall
apply it for the benefit of John W. Stone. In the determination of the
brother or sister to receive the income from one-half of the invested
principal the Trustee shall consult with Ben I. Stone, Ruth Stone and
J. M. Stone, and should Trustee be guided by such consultation, Trustee
shall have full, complete and absolute discretion and authority to make
payments to such brother and sister, and Trustee shall have no duty to
make any othE!r inquiry as to need but may rely absolutely upon the
recommendation of anyone or two of the consultants, such recommendation

to be final and absolute. Should none of the consultants be living the
Trustee's discretion shall be absolute. Should none be in need of the
income of this one-half, the Trustee shall add the unused income to
half.

15. I nillJe, constitute and appoint my brother, Ben F. Stone, and
my sister, Ruth Stone, to be Co-Executors of this, my Last Will and
Testament. Should either Ben F. Stone or Ruth Stone be unable to so act

I appoint J. M. Stone to act 1n the place or stead of either or both of
them. It 1S my wish that in view of the size of my estate that my
Executors act for a fee of 112% of the gross estate to each of them. The
Executors are to choose an attorney to represent them in the settlement
of my estat'2 whom I hope will serve for a fee of 2;2% of the gross estate.
