PHILIP N. BROWN Philip N. Brown Philip Neff Brown, 87, a resident of Homewood at Martinsburg, 430 S. Market Street, Martinsburg, PA, formerly of Mechanicsburg, passed away December 7, 2007 at Homewood. He was born June 22, 1920 in Alexandria, Pa, to the late Harry Brown and Mabel Huyette (Neff) Brown. He was a member of Second United Methodist Church of Christ, Harrisburg, PA, and a member of the Mechanicsburg Post #109, American Legion. He graduated from Alexandria High School, Class of 1938; attended Juniata College; and graduated from the Cincinnati College of Embalming in 1942. Philip served with the U.S. Army during World War II in the American Theatre of Operations. Following his military service, he graduated from the Pennsylvania State College (now the Pennsylvania State University) with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in the School of Commerce and Finance. He retired from the U.s. Postal Service, Harrisburg Post Office. Surviving are a brother, Robert Huyette Brown and his wife, Tonny of Altoona, PA; two nieces, Susan Carol Donges of Atlanta, GA, and Nancy Ann McFarland of Glenmoore, PA; three nephews, Robert Huyette Brown, Jr. of Davie, FL, Steven Rodli Brown of Alpharette, GA, and David Andrew Brown of Dover, PA. Funeral services will be held at the John B. Brown Funeral Home, 417 Washington Street, Huntingdon, PA, on Thursday, December 13, 2007 at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Jeanne Jacobson officiating. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service Thursday, at the funeral home. Interment in Riverview Cemetery, 245 Standing Stone Avenue, Huntingdon, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in remembrance of Mr. Brown are requested for the Humane Society of the Harrisburg Area, Inc., 7790 Grayson Road, Harrisburg, PA 1711l.
