GRIPPIN, and in support thereof respectl~lly request: 1. Petitioner, Cindy L. Adams, of 17 E. Main Street, Walnut Bottom, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, 17266, a sui juris adult. is the natural mother of ABBE S. GRIPPIN. 2. ABBE S. GRIPPIN, is an 25 year old single adult female. 3. ABBE S. GRIPPIN, resides with the Petitioner at 17 E. Main Street, Walnut Bottom, Pennsylvania, 17266, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania and does not receive residential services. 4. ABBE S. GRIPPIN attends an Adult Day Program sponsored by UCP of Central Pennsylvania located at 69 W. King Street, Shippensburg, Pennsylvania. 5. ABBE S. GRIPPIN, is an alleged mental incompetent as is evidenced by a letter from Dr. Adelina Palade, who indicates that ABBE S. GRIPPIN has severe mental and physical disabilities, including mental retardation, autism, deafness and visual impairment and she has an absence of the Corpus Collosum. Said letter is incorporated by reference and attached at Exhibit "A". 6. The proposed Guardian has no interest that is adverse to those of ABBE S. GRIPPIN. 7. The Petitioner is willing to serve as Guardian of ABBE S. GRIPPIN, an alleged mental incompetent, and she has signed a consent letter which is attached as Exhibit "B". 8. The natural father, Daniel H. Grippin, is divorced from the Petitioner and has not been an active participant in daily life of ABBE S. GRIPPIN, for the past three (3) years. 9. It is the position of the Petitioner that Guardianship is necessary in order to secure medical and social services on behalf of ABBE S. GRIPPIN. 10. ABBE S. GRIPPIN, is unable to manage her property, or is liable to dissipate it or become the victim of designing persons and lacks sufficient capacity to make or communicate responsible decisions concerning her person. 11. The Petitioner is the mother of ABBE S. GRIPPIN as well as an advocate for Cumberland-Perry Association for Retarded Citizens (CPARC). 12. The Petitioner believes that there exists no less restrictive alternative in view of the physical and mental disabilities of ABBE S. GRIPPIN. 13. No other petition has been filed for the appointment of a Guardian for the alleged incompetent. WHEREFORE, Petitioner respectfully request that she be appointed full Guardian of her daughter, ABBE S. Abbe has several medical issues that include: Hearing and vision impairment Autism Absence of corpus callosum Severe Mental Retardation Short Stature These are all issues that will not "improve" over time. I do not have any interest adverse to Abbe S. Grippin.
