Prothonotary at the Cumberland County Court House, High and Hanover Streets, Carlisle.

COMPLAINT UNDER SECTION 3301(c) or 3301(d)
OF THE DIVORCE CODE
Plaintiff is Laurie Linda Newson, who currently resides at 150 North West Street, Carlisle
Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, since March 2007
2. Defendant is Maurice Anthony Newson, who has been incarcerated since November 2004 and
is currently incarcerated at G. Robert Cotton Correctional Facility at 3510 North Elm Road, Jackson,
Michigan 49201.
3. Plaintiff has been a bona fide resident in the Commonwealth for at least six months
immediately previous to filing of this Complaint.
4. Plaintiff and Defendant were married on August 16, 1997, at Carlisle, Cumberland County,
Pennsylvania.
5. Defendant previously filed a divorce action in the Michigan Courts docketed at File No. 08-
00839 DM in the 4"' Judicial Circuit Court for the County of Jackson, Jackson, MI 49201, but the action
was recently dismissed due to the failure of the Defendant to make necessary filings. The Defendant
proceeded pro se in the Michigan action. There is currently no other divorce action pending between
Plaintiff and Defendant. [ a copy of the dismissal order is attached hereto as Exhibit I]
6. The marriage is irretrievably broken.
7. Plaintiff has been advised that counseling is available, and that Plaintiff may have the
right to request that the Court require the parties to participate in counseling.
8. Plaintiff and Defendant have lived separate and apart for more than two years.
9. Plaintiff requests the Court to enter a Decree of Divorce.
Count II Claim for Divorce under 23 Pa. C.S. A. & 3301(a)(5)
10. Plaintiff incorporates paragraphs 1 through 7 above herein by reference.
12. Defendant, Maurice Anthony Newson, has been convicted of a crime and sentenced to
serve a term of imprisonment of longer than 2 years.
13. Plaintiff requests the Court to enter a Decree of Divorce.
