MOTION TO EXTEND APPOINTMENT OF EMERGENCY GUARDIt~iV o

OF THE PERSON AND ESTATE OF WIl~lIFRED D. CHRONISTER
AND NOW COMES the Cumberland County Aging & Community Services, in
and for Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, by its solicitor, Anthony L. DeLuca, Esquire,
and files this Motion based upon the following:
1.
The moving party is the Cumberland County Area Agency on Aging (CCAAA),
with its office located at 16 West High Street, Carlisle, Cumberland County,
Pennsylvania.
2.
The alleged incapacitated person is Winifred D. Chronister, age 82, who resides at
6303 Brandy Lane, Mechanicsburg, Cumberland County,.
3.
On April 28, 2009, Petitioner filed a Petition for Appointment of Emergency
Plenary Guardian of the Person and Estate of Winifred D. Chronister in accordance with
20 P.S. § 5513 and for Appointment of permanent Plenary Guardian of the Person and
Estate pursuant to 20 P.S.§ 5511

On May 1, 2009, a Hearing was held on said Petition and, upon the conclusion of
the Hearing, the Cumberland County Aging & Community Services was appointed
Emergency Plenary Guardian of the Person and Estate of Winifred D. Chronister.
5.
The Order of Court entered on May 1, 2009 is effective for up to seventy-two (72)
hours.
6.
Winifred D. Chronister has been placed at Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation
Center 1000 Claremont Road, Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
7.
The Cumberland County Aging & Community Services avers that the emergency
will continue if the Order of Court of May 1, 2009 is not extended for a period of twenty
(20) days from the expiration of the initial Emergency Order.
8.
Counsel for Winifred D. Chronister is aware that this Motion is being filed and
does not object to the requested extension of the May 1, 2009 Order of Court.
WHEREFORE, The Cumberland County Aging & Community Services prays
that this Honorable Court extend the appointment of the Emergency Plenary Guardian of
the Person and Estate of Winifred D. Chronister for twenty (20} days.
