In explanation of why the tax return shows no assets, we unfortunately had to open the probate case because a failed beneficiary designation on a $3,000.00 group life policy left the estate as the entitled beneficiary and being that her closest relatives were nephews and nieces, the insurance company would not pay out the proceeds unless a personal representative was appointed. Mrs. Fromm had been living in a nursing home for years and was otherwise impoverished. Should you have questions please call or write to me at the above office.
