Inheritance Tax Release of Lien
Dear Mr. Wilson:
Reference is made to your letters to me dated April 22, 2009 and Apri123, 2009, requesting that
the Department of Revenue prepare an inheritance tax release of lien on behalf of the above-
referenced Estate.
The Department of Revenue is pleased to prepare for you the inheritance tax release of lien that
you requested. Your offer to pay $20,100.00 as adequate consideration is accepted. This
amount represents the result of reducing the current fair market value of the property
($190,000.00) by the balance of the mortgage ($22,500.00) and multiplying that balance by the
applicable statutory inheritance tax rate (12%). Since current fair market value of the property is
being used, no interest will be imposed. Penalty will be abated.
Payment of $20,100.00 should be made to the Register of Wills of Cumberland County under the
name of the Estate of William I. Evan, estate file number 21 08-979. Fax to my attention a
photocopy of the receipt of your payment. I will then send to you an original and copy of the
release of lien. You will be instructed to file the original release of lien with the Register of
Wills of Cumberland County. The copy may be retained for your records.
