L. Ebert appointed the Cumberland County Office of Aging the emergency temporary Guardian of the Person and Estate of Lieselotte Schall. She is also known as Rosemary Schall, Rosemary Sanchez, and Lieselotte Chubb. Following the hearing, Ms. Schall was transported from the Carlisle Regional Center to the Shippensburg Health Care Center where she was admitted. On December 5, 2007, the Cumberland County Office of Aging was appointed Permanent Guardian of the Person and Estate. At the time of her admission Ms. Schall was diagnosed with dementia with psychotic features, chronic atrial fibrillation, congestive heart failure, diabetes, hypertension, ambulation dysfunction, hypothyroidism. She was later diagnosed with gastroesophageal reflux disease, respiratory failure and allergic rhinisitis..Ms. Schall adjusted fairly well to being in a nursing home About five months after her admission, she was placed on palliative care because of her advanced heart disease. This also made her eligible for hospice services. The hospice aides provided companionship, hands on care, provide emotional support. The hospice chaplain also made visits to her. Hospice would give case manager updates on her physical health. Hospice discharged her in November because was doing well and not experiencing any decline. During the year 2009 there was little change in Rosemary's condition. She fell out of bed a few times so they lowered it and put a mat beside her bed. There were no major injuries. Both her medical condition and her behavior are stable. She attends some activities and is able to do Bingo. It is the request of the Cumberland County Office of Aging that the agency retains Guardianship of Person for Lieselotte Schall. The Shippensburg Health Care Center has demonstrated an adequate quality of care for her medical and mental problems. We believe, therefore, that Ms. Schall should continue to reside in that nursing facility. EMAIL US AT aging~accpa.net OR VISIT OUR WEBSITE AT www.ccpa.net/aging v~
