Bureau of Unclaimed Property - By letter dated August 3, 2009 the
Administratrix was notified by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania that th~tis
was unclaimed property for Monroe H. Morrison, the decedent's brother. TF~e
decedent's brother Monroe H. Morrison died on May 10, 1998 and was a
resident of Florida. An estate administration occurred in Florida. The
decedent was the sole beneficiary. Upon providing proof to the Department of
Treasury that the decedent was the sole beneficiary, the Department of
Treasury indicated it would make a payment to the decedent, not the
Administratrix, since the amount exceeded;10,000. Therefore the Departtht nt
of Treasury advised that an estate for the decedent needed to be opened. ~he
decedent died on June 7, 2001. but no estate was required to be opened at't~tat
time because everything was owned jointly with he and his spouse, the
Administratrix. The sole purpose for opening the estate now was to receiv~el
the funds as indicated and referenced on this schedule. There is no tax dtlt$ on
the amounts paid.
