Following this appointment the agency opened a guardianship checking account at Sovereign Bank where she did her banking. The funds in her personal accounts were transferred into the new guardianship account. The agency assisted Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, where she resides, in filing for medical assistance which was approved. The agency also applied to be named representative payee for Ms. Demler with the Social Security Administration. Ms. Demler's Social Security, which is her only income, remained at $647.00 throughout the year. During this year her main expense has been her portion of the payment toward the nursing care which is currently $502.19 a month. The Cumberland County Aging receives a guardianship fee of $100.00 a month. This was approved by the court and included in the court order Ms. Demler had previously made pre-funeral arrangements so it was unnecessary for the Agency to do that. Attached is a financial summary of Pauline Demler's income and expenses. Also attached is a spread sheet representing her checking account register.
