THOMAS, Defendant CIVIL ACTION - LAW No. 11 - 4750 Civil Term ACTION IN PATERNITY MOTION FOR CONTINUANCE AND NOW comes the Plaintiff/Petitioner Thomas Lee Thomas, by and through his Attorney, Jane Adams, and respectfully represents the following: 1. Petitioner is Thomas Lee Thomas, (hereinafter referred to as "Petitioner"), who currently resides at 1361 Zimmerman Road, Carlisle, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, 17013. 2. Respondent is Cheriese Thomas, (hereinafter referred to as "Mother"), who is currently represented by the Family Law Clinic. 3. On June 3, 2011, Petitioner filed a Complaint to Establish Paternity and for Genetic Testing under the above-captioned matter. 4. The hearing on this matter is scheduled for Thursday, September 8, 2011 before this Honorable Court. 5. Counsel for the parties have discussed undertaking voluntary genetic testing and it is anticipated that the parties may be able to enter into an agreement to that effect. 6. Petitioner is asking for a continuance to allow time to complete the stipulation and details of the arrangement for voluntary genetic testing and that the next date be scheduled no less than four weeks from today's date, in order that the test results could be returned before any further proceedings. 7. Such request would conserve time and resources for the court, counsel, and the parties. 8. Attorney Megan Riesmeyer at the Family Law Clinic was contacted regarding Petitioner's request on Friday, September 2nd and she indicated she was in agreement with the request for the continuance. 9. This matter was previously assigned to Judge Ebert. WHEREFORE, Petitioner, Thomas Lee Thomas, respectfully requests that this Honorable Court continue the hearing previously scheduled in this matter.
