Dear Inheritance Division:
I am requesting a filing extension for Esther K. Miller who passed away on
January 25, 2011 in Cumberland County, PA. I will also need an extension
for John R. Miller who passed away on June 25, 2010 in Cumberland County.
There is not sufficient money to pay inheritance tax until their house is sold.
Her daughter and family were living in the home and taking care of Mrs.
Miller at the time of her death. It took several months (late August} for her
daughter (my sister in-law) to move out. What little money remaining is
needed to make repairs and pay bills so house can be put on the market for
sale. Unfortunately, under the current economic conditions and the
downturn in the housing market that is not likely to occur prior to the
October 26, 2011 deadline.
