PROTHONOTARY ? n ?© PETITION FOR MODIFICATION OF FEES OFPROTHONOTARY AND NOW, comes David Dwight Buell, Cumberland County Prothonotary, by and Kirk S. Sohonage, Esquire, his Solicitor, and presents this Petition for Modification of Fees of Prothonotary and in support thereof avers the following: Petitioner, David Dwight Buell, is the duly elected Prothonotary of Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. 2. The Prothonotary's office is a fee-based office in that it is self-funded by and through the collection of fees for documents filed therein. 3. The current fee schedule for the Cumberland County Prothonotary and has not been modified within the last three (3) years. 4. By enacting Act No. 1998-164 (HB 1715) the Pennsylvania Legislature empowered the Prothonotaries in counties of the second class A and the third through eighth class, including home rule counties of the same class, with the ability to increase its filing fees once every three (3) years with the approval of the President Judge of their respective counties. 5. For economic considerations as well as efficiency of the office, it is reasonable that the fees for services performed by the Prothonotary should be modified. 6. The Petitioner submits the fees to be charged in his capacity as Prothonotary should be as proposed on the attached document marked as Exhibit "A". WHEREFORE, your Petitioner, David Dwight Buell, Cumberland County Prothonotary, respectfully requests that this Honorable Court grant hit Petition for Modification of Fees and establish the fee schedule to be charged by his office as requested herein. S. 2107 it is hereby ordered and directed that the Fees for the Cumberland County Prothonotary shall be as requested in Exhibit "A" to the Prothonotary's Petition for Modification of Fees.
