I, SUSAN D. BASSETT, of North Middleton Township,
Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, declare this instrument to be
my last wi]] and testament, hereby expressly revoking all wills
and codicils heretofore made by me.
1. I direct my executor to pay all of my debts, funeral
and administrative expenses as soon as convenient after my
decease.
2. I authorize and empower my executor to sell any realty
owned by me at my death and not specifically devised herein, at
either public or private sa]e, and to give good and sufficient
deeds therefor, in fee simple, as I could do if living. My
executor is authorized and empowered to continue to
any business in which I may be engaged at my death,

5. Should my daughter, Megan D. Bassett, be under the age
of twenty-one (21) years at the time for distribution to her and
should the value of her share of my estate be more than the

Dauphin Deposit Bank and Trust Company, of the Borough of

personal, that I may own at my death, and shall be under no duty
to convert the same into legal investments. The trustee shall
have the power and authority to hold, manage, invest and
reinvest, and to pay over the net income of the trust property to
or for the use and benefit of my daughter if she be under the age
of twenty-one (21) years,

refuse to serve for any reason, or die leaving any of my estate

unadministered, my child being under the age of eighteen years, I
nominate and appoint G. Richard Cornman and Peggy B. Cornman, as
substitute executors with the same powers as are given herein to
my executor, and also without the filing of any bond. If,
at my death, my child is eighteen years or older, she

shall be the substitute executrix of this my last will and
testament, also to serve as such without bond, with the same
powers as are given herein to my executor.
7. Should the gift in Paragraph No. 4 take effect, I hereby
direct that G. Richard Cornman and Peggy B. Cornman, shall be the
guardians of the person of my daughter, so long as she be under
the age of eighteen years at my death.
8. I hereby suggest that my personal representative retain
the services of Irwin, Irwin & McKnight, as attorneys in the
settlement of my estate.

For dates of death on or after July 1, 1994 and before January 1, 1995, the tax rate imposed on the net value of transfers to or for the use of the surviving spouse is 3%
[72 P.S. §9116 (a) (1.1) (i)].
For dates of death on or after January 1, 1995, the tax rate imposed on the net value of transfers to or for the use of the surviving spouse is 0% [72 P.S. §9116 (a) (1.1) (ii)].
The statute does not exempt a transfer to a surviving spouse from tax, and the statutory requirements for disclosure of assets and filing a tax return are still applicable even if
the surviving spouse is the only beneficiary.
For dates of death on or after July 1,2000:
The tax rate imposed on the net value of transfers from a deceased child twenty-one years of age or younger at death to or for the use of a natural parent, an adoptive parent,
or a stepparent of the child is 0% [72 P.S. §9116(a)(1.2)].
The tax rate imposed on the net value of transfers to or for the use of the decedent's lineal beneficiaries is 4.5%, except as noted in 72 P.S. §9116(1.2) [72 P.S. §9116(a)(1)1.
The tax rate imposed on the net value of transfers to or for the use of the decedent's siblings is 12% [72 P.S. §9116(a)(1.3)]. A sibling is defined,.under Section 9102, as an
individual who has at least one parent in common with the decedent, whether by blood or adoption.
