You will find enclosed check for preliminary Inheritance Tax payment for the above
Estate. This payment is for Inheritance Tax on Members 1st Federal Credit Union joint
checking and savings accounts in the names of Harry D. Jones and his daughter, Sally
J. Currie. The Pennsylvania Department of Revenue has not yet issued form REV-
1543, Information Notice and Taxpayer Response, regarding the accounts. We will
forward to you upon receipt from the Department of Revenue two (2) copies of form
REV-1543.
In order to take advantage of the 3-month, preliminary payment, 5% discount under
Pennsylvania law, we have prepared the following calculation:
1/2 DOD Value of Accounts $ 2,184.62
Inheritance Tax Rate x 0.045
Total Tax Due 98.31
5% Discount - (4.92)
Tax Due if Paid w/in 3 Months $ 93.39
Please log this payment and issue a receipt. An envelope for your use is enclosed.
