We are writing to request asix-month extension of time to file the Pennsylvania Inheritance Tax return -REV-1500. We are requesting an extension because the decedent owned residential real property which was has been listed for sale for more than 6 months, without success. The property was recently transferred to a new real estate agent, and the price was lowered in accordance with that realtor's evaluation. We would like to be able to report the actual sale price of the property and to properly deduct the expenses incurred to prepare the property for sale, as well as the costs associated with the sale including transfer taxes and real estate commissions on the Pennsylvania Inheritance Tax Return. An extension of time to file the tax return would save the estate time and the additional expense of having to file a supplemental return.
