AND NOW, this // day of upon consideration of the
Petition to Redact Personal,Identification Information submitted by the Cumberland
County Tax Claim Bureau, the relief requested in the Petition is hereby GRANTED and
it is hereby ORDERED as follows:
I. The Prothonotary is hereby directed to redact the personal identifying information
contained in the ten (10) docketed cases as identified to the Prothonotary by the
Cumberland County Tax Claim Bureau subsequent to the issuance of this Order;
and
2. All information provided by the Cumberland County Tax Claim Bureau to the
Prothonotary in any way concerning the identity of the cases from which personal
identifying information is ordered to be redacted by the Prothonotary shall not be
released by either the Cumberland County Tax Claim Bureau or the Prothonotary.

PETITION TO REDACT PERSONAL
IDENTIFICATION INFORMATION
Cumberland County Tax Claim Bureau, by its attorney, Keith O. Brenneman,
Assistant County Solicitor, submits this Petition as follows:
1. Petitioner Cumberland County Tax Claim Bureau is a statutorily existing Tax
Claim Bureau created in the office of the Cumberland County Commissioners pursuant to
the Real Estate Tax Sale Law, 72 P.S. §5860.101, et seq.
2. Petitioner is charged with, inter alia, the collection and prosecution of tax
claims on real property in Cumberland County and the management and disposition of
such property subject to the levy of taxation.
3. In the course of performing its functions, Petitioner in confirming the identity
and location of the owners of property against which tax claims have been levied, obtains
personal identifying information of such owners.

4. For purposes of noting its efforts to serve property owners with notice of the
sale of properties subject to tax claims, Petitioner typically describes the processes it has
undertaken in locating and serving the property owners in the petitions it files with this
Court.
5. In the process of preparing and filing innumerable petitions with this Court
over many years, there have been certain instances, despite Petitioner's best efforts, when
social security numbers ( the "personal identifying information"), has inadvertently been
included in a petition filed with this Court.
6. Petitioner has identified ten (10) docketed cases between 2008 and 2011 that
contain personal identifying information pertaining to one of more of the parties who are
property owners in those cases.
7. The inclusion of the personal identifying information in the public record of
those cases serves no legitimate public purpose, can be utilized in improper ways by third
persons and should be redacted from the record of those cases.
8. The Prothonotary has been informed of Petitioner's intention to submit this
Petition to the Court and consents to this Petition and the relief requested herein.
9. Petitioner shall provide the specific case information to the Prothonotary so
that the personal identifying information may be redacted from the record of the ten cases
upon issuance of an Order by this Court granting the relief requested herein.
WHEREFORE, Petitioner Cumberland County Tax Claim Bureau, requests this
Court to issue an Order:
A. Directing the Prothonotary to redact the personal identifying information
contained in the ten docketed cases upon the identification of such case numbers
to the Prothonotary by the Cumberland County Tax Claim Bureau;

B. Order that all information provided by the Cumberland County Tax Claim
Bureau to the Prothonotary concerning the cases from which personal
identifying information shall be redacted not be released by the Cumberland
County Tax Claim Bureau or the Prothonotary; and
C. Order and direct such other relief as this Court may deem just and appropriate.
