Ladies and Gentlemen:
Our office is counsel for the captioned Estate. We filed the Inheritance Tax Return
(Form REV-1500) on March 1, 2013. At that time, we paid the Inheritance Tax that we
believed was due.
Later, it came to our attention that a debt that we list for the Decedent, specifically
a debt due to the Social Security Administration in the amount of$1,255.00 was, in fact,
not a debt. The Social Security Administration refunded a payment we had made to them;
Ms. Shiley was in fact entitled to the last Social Security check that she received.
Accordingly, we enclose estate check no. 1009 made payable to the order of the
Pennsylvania Department of Revenue for $56.00. This payment should be applied to
Inheritance Tax due on the captioned Estate. This represents our calculation of the
additional Inheritance Tax due with the elimination of the debt to the Social Security
Administration.
