Gas 1 - Pavement is higher than garage floor and side walk, which would cause water and ice to back up against door. Orange line shows area that is above grade. 1 A - You can see by the brick that the asphalt is higher than garage floor. They wanted to remove asphalt along the front of the garage, to run the water into the area of the corner of the garage, leaving the driveway still higher than the garage floor. This would still cause water and ice problems in the winter, also water against foundation. 1 B- Shows the asphalt that has to be removed to put driveway at minimum grade to drain away from garage. The same grade as old the driveway. 2, 2A, 2B - They put a ridge on both sides of the driveway. It is about 2 inches higher on the pavement side and about 4 inches high on the lawn side. This is very dangerous and a hazard for people to trip over. 39 3A - Driveway should have been cut into street but: it was feathered onto the street. This will not hold up because of freezing and plowing. Feathered pavement will break up from freezing and snow plows will tear up the edge of the asphalt. 4, 4A - The pavement is very porous in areas including ridge. Water and melting snow will freeze in these areas causing the pavement to break up. 5 - Damage done to tree by the contractor. I would like to point out that the major part of this work was done in the dark, making it hard to see how it could be done right. We had two asphalt contractors look at this work, both stated that the driveway would have to be removed to do the job right. Because of the way this contractor done this job and the way he tried to correct the problems I do not want him to do any more work. I would like my money back plus what it would cost to have the asphalt removed and other related problems. Z Woe', r t7 rv r~ crl> Zx. to r/ -ri - C-n d Jti g am,, Curtis R.
