COMPLAINT
1. Plaintiff, Muhammad Khalid ( "Plaintiff'), is an adult individual with an address of
1466 Spring Hill Drive, Hummelstown, Pennsylvania 17036.
2. Defendant, Frederick L. Thurlow ( "Defendant "), is an adult individual with a last
known address of 200 Commerce Drive, New Cumberland, Pennsylvania 17070.
3. Defendant, Samantha Minnich, is an adult individual with a last known address of
4429 Avon Drive, Harrisburg PA 17112.
4. On or about April 24, 2012, Plaintiff was operating a 2010 Toyota Rav 4 at or near
the intersection of Paxton Street and 19` Street in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania (the "Intersection ").
5. Plaintiff stopped his vehicle for the red traffic light at the Intersection. Defendant
Thurlow was operating a 2000 Mazda Sedan owned by Defendant Minnich at or near the same
Intersection at approximately the same time. Defendant failed to slow down when approaching the
red traffic light at the Intersection.
6. As a result of Defendant's failure to slow his vehicle, Defendant's vehicle struck the
rear end of Muhammad Khalid's 2010 Toyota Rav 4.
7. Defendant, Samantha Minnich, did not carry liability insurance for the 2000 Mazda
Sedan operated by Defendant at the time of the collision.
8. The collision was caused as a result of the negligence, recklessness and carelessness
of Defendant Thurlow in that he:
a. Failed to properly slow down as he approached the red traffic light;
b. Failed to operate his vehicle in a manner to avoid colliding with the rear -end
of Muhammad Khalid's vehicle; and
C. failed to avoid striking Plaintiff.
9. The collision was caused as a result of Defendant Minnich's negligence in that she
knew or should have known that Defendant Thurlow was an unsafe driver.
10. As a result of the collision, Muhammad Khalid's vehicle was damaged in the amount
of $3,894.77. A copy of the repair estimate is attached hereto as Exhibit "A."
11. As a result of the collision, Muhammad Khalid was forced to incur the cost of renting
a replacement vehicle in the amount of $165.00. A copy of the invoice is attached hereto as Exhibit
44 13. 15
12. As a result of the collision, Plaintiff was required to pay for damages in the amount
of $4,059.77.
13. The outstanding balance owed by Defendants is $4,059.77, for which the claim is
made by Plaintiff.
WHEREFORE, Plaintiff demands judgment against Defendants in the amount of $4,059.77,
plus costs, interest, and any other relief that the court deems appropriate.
