Reinhard File Notes: FRIDAYOJ18/ While leaving my office to attend the Emergency Hearing for the Guardian of the person I received a call from the Holy Spirit Hospital that Candye was in the ICU through the ER due to an incident at the dialysis in the morning; I explained my situation and advised will call or stop after the hearing which is 2:0o today. I attended Emergency hearing at the Cumberland County Courthouse for Candye Reinhard. Those present were Attorney Kristen Lieb, Claire Bennett of Golden Living, and Michelle, the nurse practitioner for Golden Living, I and representing the ward was a court appointed attorney,Attorney Bailey. The proceeding took place with testimony from all three (3) of us present. The Judge entered an Order for the Emergency Guardianship for twenty(20) days and final hearing set for November 6, 203 for appointment of a permanent guardian. Advised no known relatives or friends, no money but needs dialysis but refused many times but has now consented. We went to the Register of Wills Office and received the certified copies of the Order. From the hearing I went to the Holy Spirit Hospital to give my order and the support documents and met with Miss Reinhard's nurse in charge of her at that time along with two doctors. The advised me of the grave situation and procedure they would follow to try to treat Candye. Candye suffered a stroke, it hit at several areas, mainly in the area of her vision and maybe walking. They said that she was breathing comfortably on her own. She did not have a ventilator or any other life-sustaining measures and that they were waiting to see how she would come through the stroke. They said that she could have some swelling which would cause death, but they did say that her brainstem is still functioning. If something would happen to make her brain dead, they told me that is the same thing as being legally dead and they could then, if she'd be on any kind of machinery, take her off due to being brain dead. I received a call later Friday night for permission to open the line for dialysis. SATURDAY/9/1, 5:ti9 AM I received a call Candye passed. They asked me about the funeral home, I explained the situation of only being named a few hours ago. I told them to check with Golden Living for that information. I was called back within a few minutes and advised Golden Living had no information, I told them to do what they do in a case like this. They said they would call the coroner and if she has any money they will claim it. CES MONDAYo/ 2i/i, 7:49 AM I received a call from Jeff Miller of the Coroner's office '7-66-6418. Mr. Miller said he was told Candye had a guardian when her mother died because they wanted to talk to Candye about her mother arrangements. I told him I was not aware of any such guardian. He is trying to track down any one that might help him in the disposition of the body. Mr. Miller did tell me he will be contacting Golden Living to find more information. 10 21 1 I Emailed Clare Bennett and Kristen Lieb above information. I received an email back from Clare indicating that they did find burial information that was at Pathmore in New Cumberland. 10 21 1 I made a call to Jack Miller of the Coroner's Office of Cumberland County to tell him about the finding and also gave him Clare's phone number.
