Hoffman, an Alleged Incapacitated Person : IN THE COURT OF COMMON PLEAS : CUMBERLAND COUNTY, PA : ORPHANS' COURT DIVISION : NO. 21-05 - 173 : GUARDIANSHIP PETITION FOR AN EXTENSION OF APPOINTMENT OF AN EMERGENCY GUARDIAN PURSUANT TO 20 PA. C.S.A. S 5513 1. Petitioner is Robert L. O'Brien, Esquire, attorney for the Cumberland/Perry MHMR Office. MHMR obtained a 72 hour appointment of a Guardian for Mr. Kramer on February 22, 2005. 2. Section 5513 permits an extension of 20 days after the initial 72 hours has elapsed. An extension to March 31, 2005 is requested. This is to assist in Mr. Kramer's discharge from a recent hospitalization. A request for a permanent Guardian is being heard by the Court on March 30, 2005. The proposed permanent Guardian, Barry Claypool will be out of the state for a week and a half between today and the March 30, 2005 hearing. WHEREFORE, Petitioner respectfully requests that Dennis Marion be appointed guardian of the estate and person of Joseph A. Hoffman for an additional 20 days.
