AND NOW,comes the Cumberland County Board of Elections(Board),through its Solicitor,Edward L.
Schorpp, Esquire, and states the following:
1. The next General Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2014.
2. As of the date of this Petition there exists certain vacancies in numerous district election
boards and the Board proposes to fill those vacancies as herein specified:

3. All of the proposed appointees have agreed to serve for the term expiring the 1" Monday
of January, 2018.
4. Pursuant to Section 2675 of the Pennsylvania Election Code, 25 P.S. § 2675, no
appointment shall be made unless notice of the hearing to consider such appointment shall be provided to
electors by the posting of such notice at the district polling place, and in the immediate vicinity, at least
five days prior thereto.
5. The Board also requests the opportunity at such hearing to propose appointments in the
event any vacancies in district election boards shall occur between the date of filing this Petition and the
date of the hearing to be scheduled by this Court, provided the Board complies with the required notice
described in paragraph 4.
WHEREFORE, the Petitioner, Cumberland County Board of Elections, by and through its
Solicitor, Edward L. Schorpp, Esquire, respectfully prays that this Honorable Court to enter an Order
directing the posting of the affected polling places and scheduling a hearing in the within matter; and
upon hearing,to enter an appropriate Order appointing persons to fill such vacancies.

FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF PERSONS TO FILL VACANCIES IN

AND NOW, comes the Cumberland County Board of Elections (Board), through its
Solicitor, Edward L. Schorpp, Esquire, and states the following:
1. The General Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2014.
2. A Petition for the appointment of persons to fill vacancies in County District Election
Boards was filed with your Honorable Court on April 29, 2014.
3. In response to the Petition, a hearing has been scheduled on May 14, 2014 at 3:30 p.m. in
courtroom #4.
4. The Petition erroneously stated that a vacancy existed in the office of Minority Inspector
in the Wormleysburg 1 Election District and proposed to fill said office.
5. No vacancy exists in the office of Minority Inspector in the Wormleysburg 1 Election
district and Petitioner requests that it be removed from the list of vacancies.
6. The Board also requested the opportunity at the hearing to propose appointments in the
event any vacancies in District Election Boards shall occur between the date of filing of the
Petition and the date of the hearing.
7. A vacancy has occurred in the office of Minority Inspector in the Hampden 3 Election
District.
8. The Board proposes to fill the vacancy as follows:

Penny Brown, being duly sworn according to law, doth depose and say that she did cause
notices of the time and place of the hearing of a Petition, presented to the Court of Common
Pleas, Civil Division, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, praying for the appointment of certain
individuals to fill various vacancies in numerous district election boards, to be posted at each of
the district polling places and in the immediate vicinity thereof; and that one of such notices was
posted at least five (5) days before the time of the hearing; a copy of said Notice is attached
hereto containing a warning in that any objections would have to be filed with the Prothonotary

NOTICE TO ELECTORS
There is a vacancy in the office of Majority Inspector in the Upper Allen 2 election
district. The Cumberland County Board of Elections has proposed to the Cumberland County
Court of Common Pleas that Selinda Homsey be appointed to fill the unexpired term of that
office. Any person having objections to this appointment must file them with the office of the
Court Administrator, 3'd floor, Cumberland County Courthouse, 1 Courthouse Square, Carlisle,
Pennsylvania, not later than 3:30 p.m. prevailing time, May 14, 2014.
