South Hanover Street, Apt 6 Carlisle, PA 17013 717-433-5835 May 6, 2014 Dear Sir or Ma'am, On behalf of myself and my fiance, Miss Dawn Mary Maruna, I am requesting a waiver of the 3 day waiting period which customarily occurs between the application and grant of a wedding license. I am an Army Captain and a Judge Advocate. I have been stationed at the Army War College here in Carlisle since May 2012. My fiance is also an attorney and practices in New York City. I am scheduled to deploy to the Middle East at the beginning of my next assignment. Given the time and geographic difficulties involved, appearing twice at the courthouse would be difficult for my fiance and we are very much hoping to complete our wedding before my deployment. I therefore request that that the waiting period be waived in our case and that the two of us be allowed to apply for and be granted our marriage license on 23 May, 2014;the day we intend to marry. = We are both aware of the gravity of entering into marriage and have given serious thought to its legal and moral consequences. Indeed, as evidenced by the date of our petition, we will have considerably more time to contemplate our marriage than the typically required three days. We merely request this waiver because of the logistical difficulties of twice appearing at the courthouse. I therefore respectfully request that you endorse the attached order. Sincerely, JosephS.teen
