PETITION FOR CONFIRMATION OF CONSOLIDATED RETURN OF UPSET TAX SALES rrl 1. Petitioner is the Cumberland County Tax Claim Bureau (hereinafter called "Bureau") created under the provisions of the Pennsylvania Real Estate Tax Sale Law, Act of July 7, 1947, P.L. 1368, as amended, 72 P.S. § 5860.101 et. seq. 2. On December 5, 2014, the Bureau held a continued Upset Tax Sale on twelve (12) properties for the collection of delinquent real estate taxes for tax years 2012, 2013 and 2014. Of the properties offered, none received bids equal to or higher than the fixed upset price, and seven (7) properties were continued to the December 29, 2014 Upset Sale in which again no bids were received equal to or higher than the fixed upset price. A list of said properties is hereto attached as Exhibit "A". 3. Notices of the Sale were sent by certified mail, restricted delivery, return receipt requested to each reputed owner as listed in Exhibit "A". 4. For properties where a return receipt was not received from each owner or reputed owner at least ten (10) days before date of Upset Sale, similar notice of the sale was sent, to each owner who failed to acknowledge the first notice, by United States first class mail. 5. In accordance with the Real Estate Tax Sale Law, advertisement of the Upset Tax Sale was made at least thirty (30) days prior to the original scheduled sale date in the The Sentinel newspaper on July 10, 2014, the Patriot -News on July 15, 2014 Page 1 of 3 and the Cumberland Law Journal on July 11, 2014. Copies of the ads along with proofs of publication are attached hereto as Exhibit "B". 6. The properties listed by tax parcel in Exhibit "A" were also duly posted by the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office or the County Assessment staff. 7. Pursuant to Section 607 of the Pennsylvania Real Estate Tax Sale Law, your petitioner respectfully requests that the Court's Confirmation Nisi provide that notice of the consolidated return regarding properties subject to sale on December 5, 2014 and December 29, 2014 be published once in the Cumberland Law Journal and The Patriot News within ten (10) days of the date of the Confirmation Nisi, and that any exceptions or objections thereto be filed within thirty (30) days of the Court's order. 72 P.S. § 5860.607 WHEREFORE the Bureau respectfully requests your Honorable Court to enter an Order Confirmation Nisi in accordance with this Petition. 3 Dated: jatn41141? < 2c 1 Keith O.
