Niznik, who hereby seeks to appeal his current inheritance tax liability determination regarding inheritance received from the Estate of Anna M. Pacchioli. 1. 1, Michael Niznik,am the grandson of Anna M. Pacchioli. 2. On July 15,2014, 1 received a forwarded letter to my Philadelphia address stating my current tax liability calculated to that date was—$7,000. 3. Upon receiving the letter in July 2014, 1 immediately called the Harrisburg Call Center and spoke to an agent. I explained that I was Ann Pacchioli's grandson and I was advised that the tax liability did not account for my lineal relationship with my grandmother. I was advised that my tax liability would be changed based upon my relationship with her. 4. During this July 15,2014 phone call, I was advised that a new letter would be sent out with a revised tax liability. 5. On January 21,2015, 1 received another letter stating my current tax liability calculated to February 15,2015 amounted to $7120.61. 6. I immediately contacted the Harrisburg Call Center again to explain that I am Ann Pacchioli's grandson and that I had not received the updated tax liability. 7. 1 was directed toward the field agent assigned to this case, Ms. Anastasia DiBartolomeo. I spoke with Ms. DiBartolomeo and was advised to forward a copy of my birth certificate,which showed my mother's maiden name to be Pacchioli,to the Department of Revenue. 8. 1 forwarded my birth certificate on February 25,2015 (Attached as Exhbit A)and received a certification that the fax was received(Exhibit B). 9. To date,I have not received my updated tax liability in this case. WHEREFORE,I respectfully request that this case not be referred to a collection agency as the current inheritance tax assessment is incorrect. I spoke to someone in your office 6 months ago and was told that my tax liability would be changed due to my being her lineal descendent. I have attached a copy of my birth certificate showing my mother's maiden name to be Pacchioli. Please revise my tax liability accordingly making sure to account for the interest on the 6 month delay in processing my status as her grandson.
