As a result of the death of the decedent, two causes of action arose; one under the "survival Act" of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for the benefit of the decedent's estate, and one under the "\~rongful Death Act" df the Common,.,ealth of Pennsylvania for the benefit of the decedent's surviving relatives. 6. The matter was tried before the Honorable Clarence C. Morrison and, after a two week trial in September 19B1, the jury returned a verdict in favor of the Plaintiff and against the Defendant which after being molded amounted to $118,224.95 for the wrongful death action and $442,774.00 for the survival action. 7. Judgment was entered in favor of your Petitioner and against the Defendant in an amount of $602,954.05. 8. On October 2, 1982, the Defendant filed Motions for a Judgment N.O.V. and for a New Trial which Motions were denied by the Court en bane on March 11. 1983. 9.
