The Township of Shippensburg files its claim in the amount of Eight Hundred
Eighty-six and 71/100 ($886.71) Dollars, plus costs of One Hundred Thirty-three and
01/100 ($133.01) Dollars, for a total due of One Thousand Nineteen and 72/100
($1,019.72) Dollars as of April 30, 2005 and sets forth in support thereof the following:
1. Claimant is the Township of Shippensburg, Cumberland County,
Pennsylvania, with its principal office located at 81 Walnut Bottom Road, Shippensburg,
Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, 17257.
2. Luther W. Chambers and Catherine p, Chambers are the owners of the
property against which this Municipal lien is filed and whose last known address is 225
South Earl Street, Shippensburg, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, 17257.
3. The property against which this Municipal lien is filed is all that tract of
land with improvements thereon situated in the Township of Shippensburg, County of
Cumberland, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania being known and numbered as 225
South Earl Street, Shippensburg, Pennsylvania 17257.
4. The authority under which this lien is filed is the Municipal Claims Act of
1923, P.L. 207, as amended (53 P,S. ~7101, et seq).
5. Water service was discontinued to the premises on March 4, 2005,
thereby making the property uninhabitable.
6. The Township officials were notified by neighbors that people were
trespassing on the property, which claims were investigated and corroborated.

7. The property was in violation of the Township nuisance ordinance
because the grass was higher than allowed and old furniture and trash was strewn
across it.
8. For public safety reasons, Township employees were required to secure
the property against trespassers and to remove the nuisances by cutting the grass and
removing the furniture and trash.
9. This Municipal Lien is filed to secure an interest for the actual costs of
securing the property, cutting the grass, and removing the trash and furniture, which
actions it took from April 3, 2005 through the date of the scheduled sheriffs sale on
June 8, 2005. See Exhibit "An attached hereto.
WHEREFORE for all the above reasons, the Township of Shippensburg hereby
does place a lien against the said property in the amount of $1 ,019.72.
