Shearer, E'~ecutor under the iiill of his mother, ["ti:;lJa Price, received the citation and a COp,? of the Peti.tion arld Order, the latter (late<i 1-lay I::, 1980, and signed by JW:!fIC> Shughart in Cumberland County. Enclosed herewith you will find from my file, which may he helpful, a copy of the official Notice of Inheritance Tax Assessment dated Decembe:r 19, 1979, a copy of my letter to the Executor dated January 17, 1980, and a Cl)PY of my file memorandum also dated January 17, 1980. You will observe from tbe memorandum that the life tenant of the estate is 60 years old. I believe we have used the same factor and formula to determine the tax on the life estate which passed on the date of her death to her son, Kenneth, under his mother' 8 Will. My letter addressed to Kenneth dated January 17, will serve to explain the difficulty that I have had with this small estate and trying to induce the decedent's surviving children to pay inheritance taxes. In order to get this matter closed and the order dissolved eventually, I have agreed to pay the inheritance taxes based on the value of the life estate. and any penalties and costs which have accrued. out of my own pocket. :.;:,:, _"~_7_,~' 'i.-.', ' , ~\:',:.~: ';'~; :-, d ~: ".-".).;"'~\ ;.. :~~'-"':1.:~~' >''l.
