Lake, guardian of the estate of Lena Cacopardo, an incompetent, respectfully represents: 1. That your Petitioner was duly appointed guardian of the estate of the above incompetent by Decree of your Honorable Court, dated November 15, 1978, wherein security was directed to be entered in the sum of Two Thousand ($2,000.00) Dollars. 2. That your Petitioner, as guardian and pursuant to her Petition, sought a Decree by this Honorable Court to increase the security and permit the Petitioner to sell and convey real estate of the incompetent. 3. That by Decree of your Honorable Court on January 17, 1979, additiona 1 security was directed to be entered in the sum of Twenty- Five Thousand ($25,000.00) Dollars for aggregate security of Twenty-Seven Thousand , .~ PI; tJ...\ ~u r't'lGf- t;3 ($27,000.00) Dollars. 4. That the real estate was sold pursuant to pennission granted by an Order of your Honorable Court, dated February 6, 1979 for a net arrount of Fifteen Thousand One Hundred Ninety-Seven Dollars and Eighteen Cents ($15,197.18) on March 1, 1979. 5. That the gross value of the inccrrpetent' s estate has been reduced to One Thousand Five Hundred ($1,500.00) Dollars, which arrount is maintained as a funeral account pursuant to provisions of the Department of Public Welfare. 6. That the net income fran all sources is approximately Two Thousand Six Hundred ($2, 600.00) Dollars Per annum, all of which is paid over to the Dauphin County Hare and Hospital as reirnburserrent for aid and care provided the inccrrpetent. 7. Lake was named the guardian of the estate of her mother, the above incompetent. (Enclosure 1). Security at that time was set at $2,000.00, which amount was subject to change if Mrs. Lake decided to sell Mrs. Cacopardo's real estate holding. Pursuant to your Order of January 17 , 1979, (Enclosure 2) , additional bond in tile amount of $25,000.00 was obtained and the real estate was sold with your approval (Enclosure 3). Due to the significant monthly costs involved for the care and maintenance of Mrs. Cacopardo at the Dauphin County Home and Hospital, Mrs. Lake has expended all but $1,500.00 of Mrs. Cacopardo's estate. That $1,500.00 is being maintained in a saVings account with the approval of the Department of Public Welfare for funeral expenses of Mrs. Cacopardo and constitutes the only assets of the estate. Income of Mrs. Cacopardo is limited to a railroad retirement check which, upon negotiation, results in contribution payments to the Dauphin County Home. Effectively I Mrs. Lake is a conduit of those funds and merely maintains the funeral account. As a result of this change in circumstances, the enclosed Petition requests reduction in the arrount of security required. Presently, the $27,000.00 bond which Mrs. Lake must maintain costs over $140.00.
