LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF ALICE E. HA CKMAN I, ALICE E. HACKMAN, single woman, of 726 West South Street in the Borough of Carlisle, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, being of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, do hereby make, publish and declare this as and for my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking and making void any and all Wills by me at any time heretofore made. 1. I direct my hereinafter named Executrix to pay all of my just debts and funeral expenses as soon after my death as may be found convenient to do so. 2. I give and bequeath to my sister, Helen H. Martin, all items of household goods and furnishings owned by me or which I have any interest in including items of furniture which had belonged to the Hackman and Henry Families, provided my sister, Helen H. Martin, shall survive me by a period j of Ninety (90) days. 3. I give and bequeath to my sister, Helen H. Martin, my undivided one- half interest in the house and lot of ground known as 726 West South Street in the Borough of Carlisle, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, provided she shall survive me by a period of Ninety (90) days, but should my said sister pre- decease me or fail to survive me by the aforesaid period of Ninety (90) days and in the event my brother-in-law, George Robert Martin, shall survive me b a period of Ninety (90) days, then I bequeath to my said brother-in-law, Georg Robert Martin, a life estate in the house and lot of ground at 726 West South Street, Carlisle, Pennsylvania, and the remainder interest in said premises to form a part of the residue of my estate which shall be disposed of as herein- after provided in Paragraph No.6. 4. In the event my sister, Helen H. Martin, shall have pre-deceased me or shall have failed to survive me by a period of Ninety (90) days, then in such event I give and bequeath all of my household goods and furnishings except those which had belonged to the Henry Family and are listed in Paragraph No. 5, in equal shares to my nephew, John H. Knode, Jr., of Winchester, QJ ~ ... " - " ". Virginia; my nephew~ Rollin Vaughn Clark of Bellefonte, Pennsylvania; my niece, Jane Knode Schleicher, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania; and my niece, Geraldine Knode Wilson, of Boiling Springs, Pennsylvania. Such articles shall be divided as said nieces and nephews may agree within Thirty (30) days after my death but in the absence of an agreement then as my hereinafter named Executrices shall determine. Should any of said nieces or nephews pre-decease me the share of such deceased niece or nephew shall pass to his or her issue per stirpes and if there be no issue then such share shall lapse and be added to the other shares. 5. In the event my sister, Helen H. Martin, shall have pre-deceased me 0 shall have failed to survive me by a period of Ninety (90) days, then in such event the articles of household goods and furnishings that formerly belonged to the Henry Family, the same being as follows: brass kettle; two Hitchcock chairs, (gold decorated); two small walnut arm chairs; mahogany rocker; small table-low, square; small spool table; cherry chest of drawers; five plank bottom chairs, (two painted); Boston rocker; cane-seated desk chair; brass lllamp" table, (in hall); painted oil lamp, (converted); mahogany mirro in bedroom; and miniature cherry chest and pine chest under it, I give and ~ j bequeath to my cousin, James Reynolds Gainor, Jr., of R. D., Kennett Squar Pennsyl vania. 6. All the rest, residue and remainder of my estate, real, personal and mixed, and wheresoever the same may be situate, I give, devise and bequeath to my sister, Helen H. Martin, provided she shall survive me by a period of Ninety (90) days, but should she pre-decease me or fail to survive me by the aforesaid period of Ninety (90) days, then I give, devise and bequeath the sam as follows: (a) One- sixteenth to John H. Knode, Jr., of Winchester, Virginia; (b) One-sixteenth to Jane Knode Schleicher, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvani (c) One- sixteenth to Rollin Vaughn Clark, of Bellefonte, Pennsylvania; (d) One-sixteenth to Geraldine Knode Wilson, of Boiling Springs, pennsylva ia; (e) One-fourth to the Trustees of Dickinson College, Carlisle, Pennsylvania " ,c, '" .. to be added to the fund maintained by it for scholarships and to be known as and designated as a memorial of my sister, Helen Hackman Martin, a graduate of the Class of 1928, the income from said share to be paid to one or more deserving students as said Trustees shall from time to time determine; and (f) The remaining one-half to the Trustees of First United Church of Christ 30 North Pitt Street, Carlisle, Pennsylvania, as a memorial to my parents, Harry George Hackman and Nettie Henry Hackman, the determination of an appropriate memorial to be made by said Trustees and designated as such. 7. I hereby nominate, constitute and appoint my sister, Helen H. Martin, as Executrix of this my last Will and Testament, but should she pre-decease me or fail to qualify, then I nominate, constitute and appoint my Two (2) nieces Jane Knode Schleicher and Geraldine Knode Wilson, or either of them as Co- Executrices of this my last Will and Testament and I further direct that none of them shall be required to post any bond to secure the faithful performance 0 her duties in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania or in any other jurisdiction.
