EDGETT, AN INCAPACITATED PERSON ORPHANS' COURT DIVISION NO. 21-78-520 MOTION FOR APPOINTMENT OF GUARDIAN OFFICE AND FOR TRANSFER OF JURISDICTION AND NOW comes Kenneth J. Suter, Esquire, Counsel for the Guardian Office at Selinsgrove Center Center, Department of Public Welfare, and represents the following: 1. The Guardian Officer was appointed Guardian of the Estate of the above named person originally or by successorship in office by Order of this Court, a copy of which is attached as Exhibit "A". 2. Act 24 of 1992 (20 Pa. C.S.A. 5512(a) et seq.) authorizes the guardian office instead of the guardian officer to serve as guardian of the estate. 3. Act 24 of 1992 also permits proceedings to take place in the county where the person resides in a long term care institution such as this one. 4. Snyder County Court has indicated that it will consent to accept jurisdiction over this case. 5. Due to changes in economic conditions, the burial fund should be increased to $2,500.00 WHEREFORE, in light of the foregoing, it is requested that the Order entered be amended to appoint the Guardian Office as plenary guardian of the estate, increase the burial fund to $2,500.00, and to transfer jurisdiction for further proceedings in this matter to SNYDER County.
